      Re: Are You a Monster?

I'm just curious. You say that Christians can't sin, but in Romans 7, doesn't the Apostle Paul recognize that Christians can still sin? Granted, they can be forgiven of that sin if they confess, but to say that Christians can't sin seems to be going a little overboard. How should this passage of scripture be interpreted?

      Romans 7:13-25

13Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful. 14For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
15For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
16If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
17Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
18For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
19For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
20Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
21I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
22For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
23But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
24O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
25I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell. Proverbs 23:13

But within those verses you have your answer; Paul refers to himself. This is a personal testimony. It may be that Paul knew that the Romans were particularly prone to this problem or thought that way. It could be that Paul is saying, "Well, I hear what you say. Let's efficiently engineer a performances based synergy capture and I will lay out some personal, high-pay off, life drivers; and see if anyone salutes them."

i.e. - Is this your problem too? If so Jesus is the answer.

That question has many parts, and you know it does. It is a little ingenuous of you to pretend that it is a simple question.

I cannot speak for Paul, his words are to be taken as the only and entire explanation of themselves. However, if you are sinning you are not Christian unless, and this is my opinion, you are aware you are sinning, fail to repent and wilfully continue to sin.

There will be those, and I see the force of the argument, who say that if you say you are saved and yet sin, then you never were saved. This would put mankind into the position that he would not know if he were saved until God's Judgment. However, if you are Really saved I don't think you would sin.

It's like learning to ride a bike - you don't fall off unless you do something you know is wrong.

As an aside, I remember an old boss who enjoyed a glass of Mint Julep. However, his boss was teatotal and said that no employee could drink on duty. My boss then announced that if he had a glass in his hand, he was not on duty.

            I hope this helps.

            BTW, are you catholic?

I must admit that prior to finding the Lord I had done 3 of the things on that list. I still consider myself a sinner but I consider myself to be an ex-monster because I have asked the Lord for forgiveness and I serve Him. I may have a long way to go but I have faith to back up should my determination fail.

Regarding cursing and use of the F and B words--

Do "frigg", "phooy", "fudge" or "shucks", "shoot" and "poo" count?

And is it using the Lord's name in vain to say "golly gee whiz" or "gosh"?

If the answer to any of these is heck, yes, then could you suggest some suitable exclamitory interjection phrases?

Im not sure but I might have aced this thing, but Im not sure about #15. While I've never had anything to do with fudge packers (outside of private e-mails with some of the Senior Pastors) I have turned a few Lesbianas around. Can you clarify my score ? I have to show my P.O. something positive besides the urine sample.

Well let us review el Guapo. You have shown progress since your bad old days when you were claiming you were greatest thing to happen to Christian woman kind since the bicycle seat and the reason reason why the Freehold blue hairs were walking bowlegged. Of first, you're Mexican, so breaking #1 & #3 is a given with you, and while we are glad you never have broken #15 we are interested in you and #2; have you told a child that some imaginary being that no one has seen and there is no proof for is real?

Hola B.J. Soy muy felice you are taking an interest in my salvation again and you interest in #2 is legendary, I am humbled. I may have more than once told a little chiqita that the Bartender was an ordaind minister an so legal to preform our probationary wedding. And while there were no papers to prove he was a minister he was a real person. I know I might have been cuttin corners but the end Gracias a Dios justified the means. Did I ace the test ?
