And speaking of cockroaches . . . He also made the Emerald cockroach wasp!

A 2003 study[2] demonstrated using radioactive labeling that the wasp stings precisely into specific ganglia of the roach. She delivers an initial sting to a thoracic ganglion and injects venom to mildly and reversibly paralyze the front legs of the insect. This facilitates the second venomous sting at a carefully chosen spot in the roach's head ganglia (brain), in the section that controls the escape reflex. As a result of this sting, the roach will first groom extensively, and then become sluggish and fail to show normal escape responses.[3] In 2007 it was reported that the venom of the wasp blocks receptors for the neurotransmitter octopamine.[4]

The wasp proceeds to chew off half of each of the roach's antennae.[1] Researchers believe that the wasp chews off the antenna to replenish fluids or possibly to regulate the amount of venom because too much could kill and too little would let the victim recover before the larva has grown. The wasp, which is too small to carry the roach, then leads the victim to the wasp's burrow, by pulling one of the roach's antennae in a manner similar to a leash. Once they reach the burrow, the wasp lays a white egg, about 2 mm long, on the roach's abdomen. It then exits and proceeds to fill in the burrow entrance with pebbles, more to keep other predators out than to keep the roach in.

With its escape reflex disabled, the stung roach will simply rest in the burrow as the wasp's egg hatches after about three days. The hatched larva lives and feeds for 4–5 days on the roach, then chews its way into its abdomen and proceeds to live as an endoparasitoid. Over a period of eight days, the wasp larva consumes the roach's internal organs in an order which guarantees that the roach will stay alive, at least until the larva enters the pupal stage and forms a cocoon inside the roach's body. Eventually the fully-grown wasp emerges from the roach's body to begin its adult life. Development is faster in the warm season.
Who but a loving God could create roaches to be living food for wasps?

I become more impressed the more I read. From the extract above, it is clear that The Lord has a magnificent grasp of biological science. (Well, what would one expect from The Creator.) Proof, if it were needed, that He exists.

              Re: God's Beautiful Creatures

              Ingredients

              • 4 pounds venison tenderloin
              • 1 cup red wine
              • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
              • 1 medium onion, chopped
              • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
              • 2 bay leaves
              • 2 sprigs fresh thyme
              • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary

              1. Combine the red wine, cider vinegar, onion, garlic, bay leaves, thyme and rosemary in a medium bowl, and mix well. Transfer to a large resealable bag, and put the venison tenderloin into the bag. Close tightly, pressing out as much air as you can. Place meat in the refrigerator to marinate, turning two or three times, for at least 12 hours.
              2. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Remove meat from marinade, and place on a roasting rack in a roasting pan.
              3. Roast in the oven for 2 to 2 1/2 hours or to your desired degree of doneness. For medium rare, the internal temperature of the roast should be at least 150 degrees F (65 degrees C) when taken with a meat thermometer. Let the roast stand for 15 to 20 minutes before carving.
              4. While the tenderloin roasts, heat marinade in a saucepan over medium heat. Simmer until the liquid is reduced by 1/3. Serve with venison.

                Example of tool-use among invertebrates:
                Octopus snatches coconut and runs
Underwater footage reveals that the creatures scoop up halved coconut shells before scampering away with them so they can later use them as shelters.

"While the octopus carries the coconut around there is no use to it - no more use than an umbrella is to you when you have it folded up and you are carrying it about. The umbrella only becomes useful when you lift it above your head and open it up. And just in the same way, the coconut becomes useful to this octopus when it stops and turns it the other way up and climbs inside it."

                        Oh.
Why do you stop mid-sentence, friend? Why aren't you marveling about these wonderful creatures, together with us True Christians(tm)?
Isn't it wonderful, that God employs these precious little friends to carry out His Will, and punish people for being sinful? So has everything its place in God's Creation!

I want to pray for those who persecute me, my Lord.
Please, treat their children as you treated those of Egypt, when they upset you! (Psalm 135:8-9)
Dash their little children against the stones for their fathers iniquity! (Psalm 137:8-9)
Hit them on the cheek, and smash out their teeth! (Psalm 3:7)
Make their death and descent into Hell swift and terrible! (Psalm 55:15)
Scatter their broken bodies over the streets of their evil cities, like Benghazi, Amsterdam, Tokyo and Mecca! (Psalm 110:6)

Spoken like a True Christian(tm), Brother! Indeed, True Science(tm) never once mentions this "microscopic" idiocy. It is likely a trick of Satan to fool people into believing that it is germs that make people sick, while in reality it's demons! True Science(tm) is very clear about that!

Newly discovered creature that lives in your sinuses has human-like teeth!

This is Tyrannobdella rex, a newly-discovered leech species named for its terrifying, human-looking teeth. And now scientists know more about why it wants nothing more than to swim up your nose or into your mouth. Most people are familiar with the type of leech which sticks on your skin and sucks out your blood. A thousand action movies and TV shows have taught us they dislike heat, so I'm sure we all have a MacGuyver plan for if we ever get attacked by blood suckers.
But what about the ones that feed on mucosa, AKA snot and spit? The leeches that will swim up your mouth or nose, and live there for weeks at a time, siphoning nutrients from your gooey bits

More amazing evidence of the wonderful ways that God designed His creatures:
More light has been shed on orchids that trick male bees into pollinating them by mimicking female insects.

The bees, lured by a pheromone-packed scent, attempt to mate with the flowers, but unwittingly carry away pollen after their visit.

Now, scientists working in the south of France have found how the flowers' false advertising could help new species of orchids to arise.
