Where do you find this in the Holy Bible?

Instead, if you were to read the Bible, you'd find a Powerful God creates life for His Glory. Those being sent to eternal damnation is of their own choice. It's very simple:

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

Friend, if you but open your heart to God, you will find "proof" is unnecessary when you have faith!

For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

I skipped over the fact he said God was benevolent without calling him out on that. I was too busy being appalled at him daring to question God.

Read the Bible and get back to me on how God is benevolent, sinner.

            • Re: Gravity destroys your morals!

              Hello all,

I have stumbled upon this thread on this forum, and have been struck in awe by the teachings that you are trying to impart on the poor people subscribed to this forum. Although I have absolutely no prejudice against the general ideas and teachings of christianity, the arguments that you are trying to make leave me with little to no respect for the religion that you represent, as you leave little to no room for me to feel sympathy for your viewpoints. The sheer and utter ignorance that you (as a whole) are showing is not even fathomable to me, and I can definitely say that prior to me reading this thread, if anyone had told me that there was a group of people who firmly held strong beliefs against prominent scientific truths such as gravity, I would've merely laughed.

Now first let me say that I have read through this thread in its entirety, and I completely understand the standpoints that you are taking in respect to modern-day's teachings of gravity, and other scientific deductions. I understand that you hold every shred of your being and every ounce of your faith in "The King James Bible", and that any expressed knowledge or explanation of reality beyond this book serves as "Satan's evil influence". And MOST OF ALL, i understand that neither mine, nor your explanation of the fundamental foundations of this world can be backed up by anything other than knowledge imparted on us by our predecessors, but I hope that in my rebuttal to your arguments, I can help enlighten as many people as possible to the outlook that I (and the general consensus of the modern-day world) share.

Alright, lets start taking apart your arguments and showing you why you're wrong. I'll do this by going through the arguments in your original post one by one. And just as a side-note, since you seem to be picking apart everyone who responds' wording, "devil-worshipping atheists"? Maybe you should quickly look up the meaning of the word "atheist" before you misuse it. I'm not saying I am one, it's just hypocritical.

              1. Yes, you are correct with the definition of the word, "theory". However, the principle of gravity, having been a theory in the late 1660's, adapted the name, "Theory of Gravity". This was back when gravity WAS merely an assumption, without having statistical or empirical data to back up its claims. The only thing that the observers of the time could produce, was a theory. Since then, however, modern science has evolved to the point of being able to literally PROVE the force of gravity and the principles that it follows. We can literally PROVE through observation alone, that the Earth is round, and that the moon revolves around the Earth, and that the Earth revolves around the Sun (among other planets), and so on. We have categorized the behaviours of matter into gravitational laws, that every mass in the observable universe abides by. (And I use "law" to mean a generalization based on recurrent and consistent evidence)

              2. Sure, you can bring up the idea that gravity was never talked about in the version of the Bible that you follow, and therefore it is of the devil. But just because a certain idea is "of the devil", doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. You say that the falling down of many things in the Bible is because God made it so, but wouldn't THAT in itself be a generalization that God created gravity? Our definition of gravity, and you're explanations for the falling down of objects are one in the same. "Gravity" is just a name we have assigned to the phenomenon that we observe. The idea of gravity does not imply anything against the idea of God, nor does it imply the falsification of anything that the bible says, so why attack its integrity? It's just a way for people to generalize the rules of reality that we OBSERVE.

              3. I even have a problem with the title of this. "Incoherent" is subjective, "ramblings" is subjective, and "gravitationalist" is not a real word. If gravity was a disputable subject, maybe it would be a word, but since gravity is such an accepted fact, there isn't even the NEED for the word "gravitationalist". The basic principles of gravity literally have NOTHING to do with the space-time continuum, nor does it have to do with any alleged "extra dimensions". And again, you're using the word "law" to mean a system of rules enforced by God on mankind. Yes, these are laws, but when we say "physical laws", the word "laws" is used in its other meaning: "a statement of fact, deduced form observation, to the effect hat a particular natural or scientific phenomenon always occurs if certain conditions are present". Any scientist that explains gravity through talking about "other dimensions", I even admit is an idiot. You don't need other dimensions to prove gravity. This broad generalization of people who believe in gravity is extremely false, and the fact that you refuse to even hear the arguments for it is as foolish as covering your ears and shouting.

              4. The entire concept of backmasking is a touchy, controversial subject. Many people for many decades have been experimenting to see whether or not backmasking is a legitimate means for subliminal messaging, and claims have been made for both sides of the argument. What HAS been proven, however, is the mind's ability to use selective hearing when given a seemingly incoherent grouping of phrases (the tape played backwards, in this case). I'll give an example (and this study HAS been conducted, with definite results), let's say that you play a tape of words backwards to some people that are not listening specifically for any words. They will come up with a couple, maybe a few jumbled-up words that may sounds similar to English words, but this is merely because of the brain's need to find patterns in incoherency. Next, the exact same tape is played backwards for a group of people listening specifically for the word, "Satan". Depending on the content of the tape, the people will come up with many more instances of the word than the former group. This is because since they are searching for the word, their mind wants to cling onto certain sounds that they hear and translate them to patterns that they are looking for. I'm not even going to TOUCH the fact that Newton wrote the Principia Mathematica almost 100 years before the USA was founded, and at least 300 years before Obama was even born…

              5. It's hard for me to refute this one, since the entire claim of it is based off of the assumption that Hell is at the centre of the Earth. I guess you could say that for this reason, gravity is the work of the devil, but this doesn't really help in your arguments against gravity as a whole. It's just saying that gravity does exist, but it's bad.

I'm sorry for the extremely long post, and I hope most (if not all) of you read this, and I am definitely looking forward to any rebuttal or response to my arguments, since I am very interested in your viewpoint, and believe everyone should have their say, but extremely importantly, not to overlook the say of others.

Thank you, have a nice day

Why bother? Seriously! It's all drivel to distract us from praising Jesus because your master Satan wants us to stray from following God as He is infallibly revealed to us in the Holy Bible. Things fall down when you let them go. Get over it!

All of God's wonders and wishes are there in the Bible for you to read. I've enough faith to think that anyone who reads the Bible with a truly open mind will wind up believing on God as much as I do.
