Ok you're right in a sense. But I will simply not ignore it when someone believes the world is flat. Surely when they propose something as stupid as that, they realise that there will be controversy and so other people will be inclined to comment with a different (and correct may I add) point of view.

Of course we realise that believing what God says is true is controversial. It was ever thus. So what you are saying is that because you have doubts about a flat Earth it's OK to indulge in anal sex?

Amen, brother. These atheists will even deny the historical Jesus and the evidence of the Bible, touting mere science as a justification, for no reason other than to convince people to have anal sex with them and accompany them to Hell.

I acknowledge that if it were true that the Earth was billions of years old, this would be a rationale for experimentation with reverse plumbing, but that does not prove that the Bible is wrong! All authority comes from God! It says so in the Bible! So how can atheists deny that the Bible says sodomy is wrong? It is just insane.

Sorry, but I'm having a bit of trouble believing this as well..

In the modern world it has become a widely spread lie that the earth is round. Of course, this is impossible. If the earth is round, then why don't people just fall off at the bottom?

Now, if we take a look at some scripture, it clearly tells us the earth is not round but flat:

First of all, let me point out that those passages only vaguely describe the earth being flat, and could very easily just be metaphors. However, some parts of the Bible, I believe, are not meant to be taken literally. It's a bit silly to think that God created the world in six 24-hour periods when there wasn't even a measurement of time until he created the day and night, but that's what it says in the Bible. Why? Because at that time, people couldn't comprehend the fact that God made the world over billions of years, so God put it to them in a way they could understand. The Big Bang? That was God creating the universe. Evolution? That was God creating man. As well as this, people back then couldn't comprehend that the earth was round, since they weren't falling off. Because of this, the Bible has a few vague mentions of how the earth is flat.

As for the pictures, most of them are paintings, and one of them is even an advertizement. How are they any more real from the thousands of pictures that show that the earth is round?

There have been millions of experiments done over the years proving that the world is round. Heck, I even did a few in 5th grade. Thinking that millions of scientists all faked their results in order to discredit the Bible is absurd.

How are we supposed to know which parts are supposed to be taken literally? Should we just assume that only the parts that agree with your preconceived notions are true?

No, all I'm saying is that you should keep an open mind about things, and when certain parts of the Bible, such as the earth being flat, have been proved without a doubt to be false, to be able to recognize that maybe that wasn't what God meant.
