waddup, joined to comment on this thread. So I found another experiment, which seems to disprove your first one about jumping.
I was walking along, and threw an object straight up. It landed IN MY HAND! Now I was confused to this, so I ran as fast as I could threw the object straight up, and it again landed in my hand. I then thought maybe I couldn't move fast enough. So I got in the back of my dads truck, had him drive as fast as he could, and jumped really high. (I can jump quite high) Instead of falling off the back of the truck, I moved along with it, and landed in the same spot! I then threw an object in the truck, and it landed in my hand

Apparently those scientists claim this is because the world is dragging us along at the same speed that its spinning, so when we leave the earth we essentially fly at the same speed as it's spinning. HOWEVER I'LL BET IT'S JUST THIS GUY
