Test 1:
Jumping up and landing in the same place is not a real test of the shape of the planet. Because we too are spinning WITH the Earth, and no human could jump high enough to break the force of gravity and hover over the earth to permit enough time to laps in order for any significant distance to pass under us.

Test 2:
Oh my word. Really? Gravity attracts smaller objects to larger objects. Your balloon theory is utterly preposterous, a balloon is bigger than the bits of paper, but it has a very low mass. Mass is nothing to do with size but WEIGHT. We are "attracted" to the Earth's core, which is made of Iron, very heavy indeed. as a sphere we can be anywhere on the planet and still be attracted to the core.

Test 3:
Are you high? That proves nothing, as you fly in a plane you are traveling on the same contours as the earth, which gives the impression of a never ending Travel far enough and you will reach the same place you started from. How could that happen? If the Earth was flat, and you got high enough you would see an end.

Here is this verse in KJV again:

I put in bold the second part because only this part is relevant to your babbling. What does it says there? 1) A certain street in a certain city was "pure gold." So far so good, right?

Now, let's stop here for a second and let's think of some adjectives we could think of when describing gold. It's heavy. It's yellow. It's shiny. Hmm, what else can we describe as shiny? Glass, for example. And this is how a metaphor is born: let's compare shiny gold to shiny glass. How do I know this is a metaphor? Because it says:

and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

That "as it" part means "similarly to."

If you don't know what a "metaphor" is, look it up on Google.

Hmm, I though you had private health care, and only since the invention of Obamacare did the government interfere (with the exception of medicare, or whatever your pensioners health care stuff was called). Obamacare was introduced in 2010.

Hello Krunsch.

It is true there are many private churches here but most of them are Catholic churches and I do not like to go to them because you see nuns and priests making the rounds with the doctors and they are very scary nuns refuse to have children for Jesus and priests rape little children.

Also many of the people on the Supreme Court are Catholics just a few months ago they had a case The United States vs. Windsor and they said that lesbians could get married and did not have to pay taxes when they died and they have not read Leviticus or Romans or maybe they did not use Post-It Notes to remind them of Leviticus and Romans I could send them some I have a bunch.

Another argument that can be made for a flat Earth is to observe that our weight does not decrease rapidly as we move up, such as in an airplane or on a mountain.

Now, a physicist is going to tell you that Newton's universal law of gravity states that the gravitational force between two objects varies inversely as the square of the distance between them, obeying the so-called inverse square law of radiation.

Anyone who knows a bit about differential calculus can attest to the fact that such a relation decreases very rapidly, in fact this rate of change is an inverse cubic relationship via the power rule for differentiation.

Hence, if the Earth were round, our weight would decrease very rapidly as we gain altitude. But, if you take your trusty bathroom scale with you on an airplane you will find your weight is the same as it was on the ground, and therefore we conclude that the force of gravity is constant.

Using a bit of integral calculus, it is easy to show that the only geometry that gives rise to a constant gravitational field is a flat one. It's very elementary.

Therefore, we are led to conclude that the Earth is flat.

Now, don't get me wrong Brothers and Sisters in Christ, we clearly don't need this at all because the Bible plainly tells us the Earth is flat. I post this only for those who choose not to take Our Lord at His Word, but who will gladly blindly follow science. And so I use a bit of science to confirm what God has already told us in order to win these abominable heathens over to The Lord.
