Re: False Religions And Cults
DEUTERONOMY 5
8 Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:
9 Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me.
KJV . look up
The Bible uses unambiguous language. Whatever you call the activity, worship, adoration or respect, it is a specific action that is prohibited.Originally posted by catholicpartyboy View Postfirst off, catholics do not worship mary,
Bowing down.
To any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth
Images of Mary are prohibited because whether you describe her as "in Heaven" or "in the earth beneath" they still contravene THIS:
any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth.
Similarly,
Regarding any person, deceased or otherwise, as having a quality or degree of communication with God superior to one's own IS to worship that person. God is clear about the status of every Christian.we don't worship saints, we ask them to pray with us, or for us. we don't pray to them.
Through Jesus we have direct access to The Throne Of Grace whose unique mediation exceeds anything previously possible.
I Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; KJV
It is we ourselves, not "Saints" or "Queens of Heaven" or "Popes" who come unto the Throne. God explains WHY:
Hebrews 4:15-16 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. KJV
God continues, describing Christians:
I Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: KJV
That is why corpses (as displayed in the vatican) or statues of corpses have no function, neither do priests nor imagined virgins nor any images of virgins. Such a conduit does not exist and no Christian would pretend that it did.
..But Christians obey God's Just Law. Christians do not bow down to statues. Catholics do.
....• God is not interested in what you call it.
......• He prohibits you from doing it.
Such people are described by God as abominations:
Deuteronomy 29:17 And ye have seen their abominations, and their idols, wood and stone, silver and gold, which were among them: KJV
Those who manufacture or own or revere or respect such images are performing whoredom, NOT worshipping God, as He makes clear HERE:
Ezekiel 23:7 Thus she committed her whoredoms with them, with all them that were the chosen men of Assyria, and with all on whom she doted: with all their idols she defiled herself. KJV
There is no such thing as "St Francis".

Re: False Religions And Cults
Sometimes the Devil and his minions creep into our message boards to try to slander us and mock us. The Holy Spirit reveals these truths to His Spirit-Led pastors, even when, to the untrained eye, they look like general misguided statements. If you'd like, I will personally send your request to the pastoral board of the church and they will pray over your request. If Jesus tells them that it is offensive, they will use His holy power to remove it. They will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if they determine that removal is necessary.Originally posted by catholicpartyboy View Posti would like to know, why my acount name was changed with out my permission, and why i am a "teenage pervert" i have not said anything slightly peverted in anyway. i was debating you wack jobs, who think that unless, you hate black people, think the south won the war, and put the thump in bible thumper

That you are a liar and a thief doesn't mean you can visit a friendly Christian forum and start spreading lies and slander. He'll probably offer up John 14:3, "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." which, although it doesn't mention Mary at all (in fact, there's not a peep about her in the whole chapter), was offered as PROOF of the Assumption by the Pope in (get a load of this) 1950!!Originally posted by Brother Harold Porter View PostChapter and verse please. It only took their "infallible" geniuses a little over 1,900 YEARS after the (alleged) incidents took place to realize that, "Hey, these simpletons have bought every line of crap we've sold them since day 1, if we add this to the pile no one's gonna notice, right? And we can milk them for even more cash, because more 'saints' and obligatory holidays (never mind the lack of Biblical justification, we can just say it's 'tradition', which we conveniently elevated to equivalence with Scripture when we had to explain another one of our seeming heresies) mean morepeople paying cover chargeofferings in the plate, trinkets sold to thesuckersfaithful, etc., golden thrones all around, boys".

Here is what the Holy Bible, the Word of God, has to say about you praying to 'mary'.
Mark 3:32 And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee.
Mark 3:33 And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren?
Mark 3:34 And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
Mark 3:35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.
(Jesus rejected his mother (and brothers))
Luke 4:8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
Luke 11:27 And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.
Luke 11:28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.
(Jesus thinks Mary is unimportant compared to the Gospel)
John 2:4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.
(Jesus addresses his mother as "woman" and rejects her rudely.
John 2:5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
(The only command Mary ever gave was to obey Jesus)
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Acts 1:14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
(The last time Mary is mentioned in the Bible, the apostles are praying with her - not to her)
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
(Praying to Mary is a waste of time)
1st Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
1st Timothy 2:6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
1st John 2:1 ...And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. (Praying to Mary - even as a mediatrix - is a waste of time)

And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven."

Re: False Religions And Cults
Friend, you seem a bit upset by all this information. I hate to add to the pile because I know it can be hard to face that which we try desperately to deny, but you really should know, for the sake of your immortal soul, what the Truth is. Here's proof that the character you know as Mary is naught but a compilation of many pagan goddesses. You don't use words like "worship" in your masses, but the essence is just the same. Indeed, your own church calls her "co-redediatrix," that is on par with Christ. She is, in all practicality, a goddess.Originally posted by catholicboss View Postfirst off, catholics do not worship marry, AGAIN, WE DO NOT WORSHIP MARRY!

You deny the Bible (Catholics don't believe in the Creation any more, they're even embracing evolution and the Big Bang), is it any surprise you deny the dictionary as well?Originally posted by catholicboss View Postfirst off, catholics do not worship marry, AGAIN, WE DO NOT WORSHIP MARRY!...
wor·ship [wur-ship] Show IPA noun, verb, wor·shiped, wor·ship·ing or ( especially British ) wor·shipped, wor·ship·ping.
noun
1. reverent honor and homage paid to God or a sacred personage, or to any object regarded as sacred.
2. formal or ceremonious rendering of such honor and homage: They attended worship this morning.
3. adoring reverence or regard: excessive worship of business success.
4. the object of adoring reverence or regard.
5. ( initial capital letter ) British . a title of honor used in addressing or mentioning certain magistrates and others of high rank or station (usually preceded by Your, His, or Her ).
from http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/worshipWhy? She's dead. Her "ascension"? Catholic myth with no Biblical foundation....we simply respect her and thank her for being the hand maiden of god. she is jesus's mother, we ask her to pray with us for help...
Except for the fact that anyone I'd ask to do something is, oh yeah, NOT dead....we don't worship saints, we ask them to pray with us, or for us. we don't pray to them. its a lot like asking your friends to pray with you...
