    What the heck is "Babtist"?

Are you unable to read the URL you typed to get here in the first place?

Did you even read the original post? Brother OYK listed every requirement AND explained how Landover does NOT fit the bill.

We happen to be God's favorite Church. Therefore your hateful claim is impossible. But thanks for persecuting us again.

Matthew 5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

No, not really, I don't remember seeing any Kool-Aid about the place.

How can Landover, that leads the Unsaved to Happiness, be at all "destructive"? The only thing we destroy is Satan's grip on humanity.

Here's a list from a SECULAR source, with my comments in red:

As can be plainly seen by a review of this eight-point "warning list" for destructive cults, Landover Baptist Church fits NO definition of a cult whatsoever! So all you outsiders can relax, stop suing us for "taking your children away", or stop complaining that your aged parents gave Landover "your" inheritance. (Did YOU earn it? No, I didn't think so. GOD did.)

Landover Baptist Church is NOT a cult. QED.

Please support this assertion with Scripture. Chapter and verse, please.

    Thank you.

In the event you are unable to cite Scripture, in this case, citing generally-accepted characteristics of cults (as spelled out by cult researchers) and showing how they apply to Landover will be acceptable.

You may wish to read the first post of this thread for some information on the subject before continuing to make a fool of yourself.

Maybe in your own little world you get to assert things and nobody challenges them and you can pretend that they are true but here you are dealing with True Christians(tm) who will call you out every time and ask you where in God's word you found inspiration for your opinion.

If this was a cult, I would have been kicked out long ago- When I was foolish, impulsive, and thoughtless.

Do you have any proof or a particular reason you've arrived at this conclusion? Or is it what you choose to believe because the Bible doesn't make you feel good about yourself and your sinful lifestyle?

My friend, the Bible is the most read, most studied, most quoted, most cited, most researched book of all time. Of all time. Don't you think that if it was debunked even once, it would have been tossed out with the morning trash? Of course it would have! Look at Milli Vanilli. As soon as people realized who was really doing the singing the whole act fell apart. My friend, the Bible has been proven true time and time again. Whether it's history or science, every bit of learning over the land several millenia has done
nothing but prove the Bible correct. Now let me ask you: who is the adult here? Someone who acts based on evidence or someone who has an irrational fear of something that clearly he has never read?

As I've just said: the world has test-driven the Bible. A few poor pioneers a few hundred years ago decided to test-drive a God-based nation. Can you guess who they were? Their names were George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin. And the nation was..... the United States of America. I'd say that little "test drive" worked out fairly well, wouldn't you?

Friend, you seem to be bitter and full of anger. We are here to introduce you to Jesus, the (usually) loving God that has crafted you in His Image. Please try to relax and have a rational conversation. Throwing about profanity will merely get you talked to like a child. Let's be grown-ups and start from scratch. Tell us a bit about yourself and how you came to hate Jesus so much!

You're basically saying that 90 % of the entire planet is less functioning than a fifteen year old kid whose parents failed to raise him with at least a little respect for our God who gave us this life?

You're the only one childish enough to join a Christian church's discussion forum to insult us for not sharing your disbelief, that's what you are. And the only one to demonstrate your disdain for God by naming yourself after the swollen glans.

    You make me sick.

Ah, yes. You're not here to insult, but to "challenge".

Why don't you go challenge your Mommy's church friends instead? Because you're a pathetic little coward who has to hide behind the Internet?

What's wrong with fear of going to Hell?
Luke 12:5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
    Hell is a real place.
    Luke 16:22-25
22And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. 25But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
Doesn't sound like somewhere I'd like to go.
