    Why the 25th of December?

Before Jesus alleged life, the 25th of December was celebrated as the rebirth of the Sun during the Winter Solstice after 3 days of no movement. The so called resurrection of the Sun after 3 days of death.

Jesus' alleged birthday is said to have been sometime around early summer, but supposedly moved to the date of the 25th of Dec for various reasons.

If so, why? What is the significance of that particular date?

thanks GoLivewireTroll, what your saying is true

The winter solstice and the 3 days of Jesus death and resurrection is over laid with the cycle of the sun and the suns rebirth doesn't make sense from a Christian point of view but makes more sense to a sun worshiper. So Christianity is a pagan religion.
It makes perfect sense because the early church had to reach out to the Pre-Christian pagan population they were trying to convert to Christianity.

These idiots on this forum have their heads so far up their a%*&@es that they can even think about anything.

Do you see how vague this is. Here at Landover we deal in the Certainties of Life, like God and Jesus and miracles and what Heaven is like, not idle speculation.

It is so vague that it cannot be true.

The winter solstice [blah, blah, blah, speculation deleted]

You seem to be suggesting that it is impossible for anyone to be born in late December because deluded heathens danced around naked at that time.

If this is your science, Biblical Science beats it hollow.

Jesus was born in a manger on December 25th, 2009 years ago. I thought everyone knew that.

Everyone may know that story and how it's told to us, but a close look at history depicts the story as nothing more than the movement of the stars and sun throughout the heavens. To be more accurate, the birth, death and resurrection story of Jesus is nothing more than the movement of the sun as it passes through the various ages of the known constellations, which are depicted as Jesus' 12 disciples.

When Jesus was supposedly born, the Earth was changing from one age to the next, from the Age of Taurus to the Age of Pisces. In this modern Age of Pisces, the sun seemingly rises under the constellation of Pisces, and with the perception of the equinox in play during this age(you know, the way the Earth wobbles) in Autumn, makes the sun seem like it rises under the constellation of Virgo. Which is why it is said that Jesus, whose symbol sometimes can be a fish or a cross(which the cross itself is just the Cross of the Zodiac), the sun/son was born of a virgin. Virgo the Virgin.

The way the rest of the story pans out is again, just allegory.

Oh sure, you heathens pagans like to talk about your "astrological ages". Claiming that Jesus ushered in the Age of Pisces. That Jesus is even represented by a fish.

You sit there smugly and state that Moses represented the Age of Aries. Since Moses was often depicted with rams horns. That Moses did away with golden calf worship in favor of ram and sheep sacrifices.

In your high and mighty ways, you talk about Moses destroying the golden calf, which represents the end of the age of Taurus.

It's all wrong! What's right is that God kind of changed his mind about how he wanted to be worshiped. Just because it happens to coincide with the changing of celestial bodies doesn't mean a thing.

Let me guess, you watched some internet movie that also contains 9/11 conspiracy theories and you bought it hook line and sinker? Do you realize how brainwashed you are? Did you even QUESTION the "facts" presented in that flick?

Here is the irony of all ironies: Even your own atheist heroes at Skeptic have totally DEBUNKED Zeitgeist:

Now go find another movie to consume without questioning so you can puke it back onto your screen. May I suggest any one of Michael Moore's films?
