And I suppose you'll say the Holy Bible doesn't exist.

Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

Lol, this just shows how stupid religion is. Pastafarianism makes more sense than this.
Why doesn't it surprise me that a man called "Homer" ends up in Hell?
        Hmmmmm.....

If hell isn't real, why does God discuss it in the Holy Bible so much?

          Daniel 12:2
And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

          Matthew 13:41-42
The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

          Matthew 18:8-9
If thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.

          Matthew 22:13
Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

          Matthew 25:41, 46
Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels. ... And these shall go away into everlasting punishment.

          Mark 9:43-48
... into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

          Luke 16:22-24
And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

          John 5:28-29
The hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

          2 Thessalonians 1:8-9
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction.

          Revelation 14:10-11
The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever.

          Revelation 20:10
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

          Revelation 20:14-15
And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Personally, I can't wait to watch you burn in hell. Jesus and i are going to laugh our asses off while you scream.
          Who Will Jesus Damn?

In what way are you fit to contradict God? God cares more about the financial loss to the girl's father for raising a girl he can no longer give as an unsullied virgin to a man as his wife. What Godly man is going to want a woman who is used goods? Women are always crying about something.

I couldn't agree more, friend! I'm glad that even a God-hating liberal scumbag like you can see through the rants and rages of other God-haters like yourself. They join our Christian church's discussion forum, uninvited and unwelcome, just to spew their vitriol and insult us.

Take note of what? That you don't understand what "atheist" and "agnostic" mean, and that they are on completely different continuums and not related words in any sense? (Atheist is the antonym of theist, and agnostic is the antonym of gnostic. Look them up. Google "atheist vs agnostic" and learn something, Sparky.)

How can following God's Law be wrong? God determines what is right and wrong; by definition, His commands are right.

I admit I find it embarrassing to share the planet with people who hate God like you and who don't even have the decency to keep it to themselves, but must force their hatred upon others.

They're about to kill a journalist for tweeting his imagined conversation with MooHamHead, what do you think they will do to you?

A Saudi journalist was deported Sunday to his home country, where he was expected to face arrest and possibly death for writing about the Prophet Muhammad.

The journalist, Hamza Kashgari, had been detained by the Malaysian police since Thursday, when he was stopped at Kuala Lumpur International Airport at the request of the Saudi government. Mr. Kashgari, a newspaper columnist based in Jidda, had fled Saudi Arabia amid public outrage after he wrote about an imaginary meeting with the Prophet Muhammad in a series of posts on Twitter, according to news reports.

Human Rights Watch warned that Mr. Kashgari faced “almost certain conviction and a death sentence on charges of apostasy” if he was sent back to Saudi Arabia.
Now, to get to the topic, why a rapist must marry his victim:
Regarding the content of this forum - I sincerely hope the victim of this crime is cast out onto the street, and banished from her home. Not because I think she is a whore, but because whatever fate may befall her must surely be better than to grow up thinking that she was to blame for such a thing. She would at least be in a position to live her life freely, and free of the intolerant cesspit that you would surely condemn her to.
. . . and spend eternity in Hell, the poor dear!

All right, three stooges. Allow me to explain to you the reason that God's Law requires a man to marry a woman if he rapes her.

A virgin is the property of her father. He can obtain a dowry for her; however, if she remains unmarried, he is responsible for her care. So, she's an asset, but can quickly become a liability if her virginity is stolen.

When a man rapes a virgin girl, he has done two things: He has damaged the property of her father, and he has made her unmarryable. No man wants damaged goods; how would he know she wasn't sleeping around and getting impregnated by someone else, who would then inherit HIS earnings? Remember, the firstborn is the most important child.

So, the girl can't be married off, and now becomes a burden on her father.

She, meanwhile, can't fulfill her God-given role of having children, possibly leading her into damnation:

                  1 Timothy 2: 11-15

11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.

12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
Childbearing is the woman's path to salvation!

Therefore, God cleverly instructed Moses to tell the people that if a man raped a virgin girl, he would be required to marry her, and take care of her for the rest of her life.

It's a beautiful, loving solution. The father is freed of the burden of caring for his spinster daughter; the woman gets to be married and raise children; and the rapist is punished by having to care for her all his days -- something she will doubtless remind him of daily!

Isn't that much better than jailing the rapist, then leaving the woman to a life of miserable spinsterhood, leeching off her father's income?
                  Bible boring? Nonsense!

I'm new to the forum and I am just really curious about everything. I have looked around at a few threads just to see what this was all about. As for your last post I have some questions:

I admit I find it embarrassing to share the planet with people who hate God like you and who don't even have the decency to keep it to themselves, but must force their hatred upon others.
I thought Good Christians were supposed to accept and love everyone?

                    No man wants damaged goods.
How come so many men still marry women with children? and love the children as their own?

Remember, the firstborn is the most important child.
My firstborn was a daughter, and I have two others after her. I have always thought my oldest was the most important.

Childbearing is the woman's path to salvation!
What about women who can't have children of their own? Maybe as a result of an injury or just genetics?

the rapist is punished by having to care for her all his days -- something she will doubtless remind him of daily!

Isn't that much better than jailing the rapist,
What if the rapist continues to rape other women? What if they have children with one or more of those other women? What should happen then?

I used to think that too. It's embarassing to admit you're wrong. Believe me, I know. But the people on this forum are outstanding and not a one of them has held my former stupidity against me.

Pastor Ezekiel has a very helpful signature pointing out lots of Bible verses you seem to have overlooked (don't feel bad - I did too). There's also a helpful thread for just this purpose - http://www.landoverbaptist.net/showthread.php?t=5610 It's a little more confusing how you missed that one, I must be honest, but no matter.

But yes. My opinion of "Good Christians" was exactly the same as yours until one day I sat down and actually read God's word rather than just assuming I knew what it said. Try it! It'll change your life! It changed mine!

I mean I would track down the Guy who raped her and beat him. NOBODY hurts my children in that way. I'm their father, I am supposed to protect my family at all costs.

Look, friend, if God chooses to punish you for not protecting your children properly then you have options open to you. As far as the girls go, however, you have to give them a chance of getting married to the person who sullied them or they will be liable to being stoned to death on their wedding night by the man you tried to pass them off as virgins to. Or no man will take them.
                            Deuteronomy 22:13-19
3If any man take a wife, and go in unto her, and hate her, 14And give occasions of speech against her, and bring up an evil name upon her, and say, I took this woman, and when I came to her, I found her not a maid: 15Then shall the father of the damsel, and her mother, take and bring forth the tokens of the damsel's virginity unto the elders of the city in the gate: 16And the damsel's father shall say unto the elders, I gave my daughter unto this man to wife, and he hateth her; 17And, lo, he hath given occasions of speech against her, saying, I found not thy daughter a maid; and yet these are the tokens of my daughter's virginity. And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city. 18And the elders of that city shall take that man and chastise him; 19And they shall amerce him in an hundred shekels of silver, and give them unto the father of the damsel, because he hath brought up an evil name upon a virgin of Israel: and she shall be his wife; he may not put her away all his days.

20But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel: 21Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you.

I know it's hard to get your head round because you've had wishy washy non-biblical values rammed down your throat but God is very clear about such things.

Honestly if someone were to ever rape one of my girls, at whatever age, I would track them down and beat them myself nomatter what it took.

These are innocent children we are talking about, they don't know anything. And we have to give them the same punishment as adults? Why can't some of those rapists control their urges? Why were people like them created in the first place?
