Sorry, this board only discusses the God of the Bible, not your made-up fantasy.

Exodus 34:14 "For thou shalt worship no other god: for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:"

...want someones daughter to get raped...
Oh, so you're claiming to know the mind of God? I'll have some questions later.

...I go to church, I read my bible, and I pray. I have battled many trials and tribulations with God's help and one thing for sure is this website is dishonoring his name...
Supporting your viewpoint with actual, direct Bible quotations (with direct links to an external source so you can easily verify that NOT ONE WORD has been changed) is "dishonouring" God? That's an interesting take. Too bad you won't be back.

...you can count me done with this website.
    Take care.

Hello Miss Scarlet and welcome to this forum. The members of this lovely community might seem a bit rough on the edges, but they are actually decent folks who simply love God more than things like logic and reason. And that's actually a compliment in their eyes.

I do hope you stick around. I tried to read the Bible, but all of the cruelty of God scares me away. God of the Bible is not a God that I would like to believe in, I would like to believe in a benevolent God who actually does love everyone. And then I start thinking about history and all of the genocide, slavery, and rape committed in the name of God and I begin to think that yes, the real God definitely seems like that cruel God of the Holy Bible. Otherwise, He'd hear the prayers of the millions of the oppressed people, right?... Or maybe there's no God at all and that's why the prayers are unanswered?....

I know I'm most probably going to Hell for having all these blasphemous thoughts. How do you manage to solve the contradiction between the loving God you want to believe in with the cruel God of the Bible and history?

I look forward to reading your reply.

I have been praising GOD ever since for His mind control (Isaiah 26:3) and for His ever-present direction of my every step (Proverbs 16:9) (Proverbs 19:21). The God that I love and serve without question is NOT cruel. If we don't want to have our bodies dashed against stones, if we don't want to be raped, if we don't want to be stoned, etc. we should, then, follow the Bible to the letter. I was walking in Central Park the other day when this haughty woman dressed in the shortest skirt I have ever stared at walked in front of me for close to ten minutes. Everywhere she turned, I turned. This was obviously her way of saying, "Rape me!"

I had to get to a meeting with a prospective client whose horse has a bad overbite (one of the carriage drivers by the park) so I couldn't properly rebuke her, but I thought about it! It was on my mind the entire time I examined "Posey Girl", the horse.
        Proverbs 21:31 KJV 1611:
“The horse is prepared against the day of battell: but safetie is of the Lord.”

Lord, may I serve my equine brothers and sisters just as I do my fellow man.
        Amen and Amen

The God of the bible is the real God I have experienced that as being someone who has dealt with addiction and depression. I have done terrible things before I found God and he showed me an entirely new life and I know that the one true God does not permit rape. I am a pornography addict and God is the reason that I strive for sobriety he has shown me mercy and carried me through my storm.

Oh, I think you're suggesting that God of the Bible is not real, but the "god" you have imagined in your head is real? Because there is a clear difference between the mighty God of the Holy Bible and the sweet free-love-for-all "god" in your imagination.

That's confusing. Why would you want to cheat yourself like that?

So why are you refuting what the Bible says?

...I know that the one true God does not permit rape...
Then why does He allow it all through the Old Testament?

WHY DOES HE ALLOW IT TODAY? Sorry for the caps, but you ignored my implied question from my previous post in this thread. He is (according to the Bible, which you have claimed is true) omnipotent and omniscient, which means He knows everything that happens, and controls everything that happens as well. He could stop rapes from happening, but He doesn't. Have you ever wondered why?

Hi, Scarlet, I'm sorry if you are having a hard time, but you can't really say that God is against rape when God hasn't actually said it Himself.

There are a lot of rapes noted in the Bible. In not one of the instances mentioned does God respond with a specific. "thou shalt not". Usually, there are a lot of detailed instructions about how the girl's father can be properly recompensed (if she is truly blameless) or how the girl ought to be punished for not making a sincere effort to resist.

Sometimes in the Bible you will read about men who just loved the Lord and made every effort to honor His Name, but who will nonetheless offer up daughters and wives to be used sexually by other men, because, hey, they have more important considerations. What you don't read in the Bible is God saying, "That was bad; girls have feelings, too."

The painful fact is that the female sex was created to function in relation to men. I know that can be hard to take, but the Bible kind of punches home that message throughout its many narratives.

If you aren't somebody's daughter or sister or wife, then you're a non-entity in the Bible. And Biblical directives make it very clear that a woman's father or brothers or husband are the injured parties in instances of rape.

Please remember that we only want to share God's Word with you so that you can see the Truth and live your life in the freedom of that Truth.

It's not an easy path, but it's a worthy one.

                Encouragingly Yours,

                • Re: Protect your family the Christian way! Get your daughter raped!

Thank you for your inspiring post, Sister Handmaiden. I think one of my favorite Bible rape stories is the story of Amnon and Tamar (2 Samuel 13:1-22). It is such a beautiful story of how Amnon fell in love, tricked Tamar, raped her, and then threw her out to never see her again:

                  2 Samuel 13:1-19
1 And it came to pass after this, that Absalom the son of David had a fair sister, whose name was Tamar; and Amnon the son of David loved her.
2 And Amnon was so vexed, that he fell sick for his sister Tamar; for she was a virgin; and Amnon thought it hard for him to do anything to her.
3 But Amnon had a friend, whose name was Jonadab, the son of Shimeah David's brother: and Jonadab was a very subtil man.
4 And he said unto him, Why art thou, being the king's son, lean from day to day? wilt thou not tell me? And Amnon said unto him, I love Tamar, my brother Absalom's sister.
5 And Jonadab said unto him, Lay thee down on thy bed, and make thyself sick: and when thy father cometh to see thee, say unto him, I pray thee, let my sister Tamar come, and give me meat, and dress the meat in my sight, that I may see it, and eat it at her hand.
6 So Amnon lay down, and made himself sick: and when the king was come to see him, Amnon said unto the king, I pray thee, let Tamar my sister come, and make me a couple of cakes in my sight, that I may eat at her hand.
7 Then David sent home to Tamar, saying, Go now to thy brother Amnon's house, and dress him meat.
8 So Tamar went to her brother Amnon's house; and he was laid down. And she took flour, and kneaded it, and made cakes in his sight, and did bake the cakes.
9 And she took a pan, and poured them out before him; but he refused to eat. And Amnon said, Have out all men from me. And they went out every man from him.
10 And Amnon said unto Tamar, Bring the meat into the chamber, that I may eat of thine hand. And Tamar took the cakes which she had made, and brought them into the chamber to Amnon her brother.
11 And when she had brought them unto him to eat, he took hold of her, and said unto her, Come lie with me, my sister.
12 And she answered him, Nay, my brother, do not force me; for no such thing ought to be done in Israel: do not thou this folly.
13 And I, whither shall I cause my shame to go? and as for thee, thou shalt be as one of the fools in Israel. Now therefore, I pray thee, speak unto the king; for he will not withhold me from thee.
14 Howbeit he would not hearken unto her voice: but, being stronger than she, forced her, and lay with her.
15 Then Amnon hated her exceedingly; so that the hatred wherewith he hated her was greater than the love wherewith he had loved her. And Amnon said unto her, Arise, be gone.
16 And she said unto him, There is no cause: this evil in sending me away is greater than the other that thou didst unto me. But he would not hearken unto her.
17 Then he called his servant that ministered unto him, and said, Put now this woman out from me, and bolt the door after her.
18 And she had a garment of divers colours upon her: for with such robes were the king's daughters that were virgins apparelled. Then his servant brought her out, and bolted the door after her.
19 And Tamar put ashes on her head, and rent her garment of divers colours that was on her, and laid her hand on her head, and went on crying.

Poor Amnon, for his few minutes of action, two years later he killed by the true villain in this story, his vicious and always conspiring brother Absalom (2 Samuel 13:23-29).

The Holy Bible is full of such heartwarming stories, isn't it? Praise !

                    Miss Basilissa,

This is anything but a heartwarming story. It would take much time and space to explain the story in light of Judaic tradition and what this story teaches us, so I encourage you to do some research on what Rabbis have written. For me to post about it here would only fall on deaf ears but you seem to be one who is educated and interested in the truth of the matter - most of the time.

Dear Sister Basilissa, don't let the guy in the funny hat trouble you. Jews seems to think that they own the Bible or something.

Many years ago, I was discussing that very same story with a Bible-believing woman who pointed out "She didn't cry out! She didn't cry out!". She said it twice, just like that. Of course, she was making reference to Deuteronomy 22, which shows how well-versed she was regarding her verses.

At the time, God was still working His Way with me and I found myself questioning why an omniscient deity wouldn't know that rapists sometimes cover their victim's mouths, but thanks to prayer, I've found the kind of peace that doesn't bother with those concerns.

Anyway, we mustn't distract seekers from the answers at hand in this thread (as seen in the Bible!) but I would like to leave you with this piece of advice. If you ever have a daughter, don't name her Tamar. Things don't go well for Tamars in the Bible.

Thank you so much Cranky. My husband showed me this thread while I was making sandwiches for my 7-year-old twins, Elizabeth and Mary. (I was showing them how to use all the appliances that day, but they were being good children and studying the bible at the time). I firmly believe in EVERYTHING you say in this and would definitely be willing to be sold out, as long as it meant my husband and the lord remaining happy.
