What does God really think about home appliances?

Does God want us to have easy lives? Does He want the bulk of our daily chores done by machines? Does He want us to be entertained every moment we are awake?

Let's list some electrical contraptions and 'splain why God hates 'em. I'll go first:

    1. The automatic dishwasher - This noisy clatterbox used to be called "the wife". She would just do the dishes automatically and didn't even use up any electricity. The less work a woman has to do, the more trouble she can get into.
A baby is a human being, not a stem cell!

    Psalm 139:19-20
Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men.
For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain.

With all due respect, learned Brother Hackeith, I'm apprehensive about where this is headed. Certainly, freeing up time from some laborious drudgery gives us more time to study the Bible, pray, or witness to the Unsaved?

I will say I do not like

    2.) electric stoves or fireplaces.

(Fire figures so prominently in The Book, and electricity seems a poor substitute when you actually have to see it where fire should be. God spoke to Moses through a bush that had real flames.)

This is the typical reaction of a lazy shiftless woman. If you are meant to read the Bible or participate in church activities your man will tell you !

Get back to your pie baking.

      Leviticus 26:27-29

      27 And if ye will not for all this hearken unto me, but walk contrary unto me;
28 Then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins.
29 And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat.

I am happy to say I would put my cookery and housekeeping skills up against practically any Christian woman's. If you organize a Bake-Off, I'll be there. And my energy has been praised many times as being near infatigueable.

I still believe that lightening some basic chores around the home through SOME (but not ALL) appliances -- or better yet, household help -- gives us more time to tend to the little ones and strive to please our husbands in other ways.

I for one have always preferred shifting housework from my wife to one of our staff of negro housekeepers. I find this allows my wife more time for homeschooling our children while it allows our negroes to fulfill the roles assigned to them by God. This way, my wife is able to give our children a Godly education while our housekeepers are earning honest pay instead of a welfare check.

I must say I agree with your thinking, Brother Dan. You see, there are big, lumbering chores in the home (beating rugs, washing clothes by hand, kneading biscuit dough) that machines or servants can now do. They do not require brainpower, or any kind of choice.

But then there are tasks that take more refinement and attention to detail; embroidering pillowcases, tending the flower boxes, dressmaking, seasoning bath oils, trimming a poodle's fur so it's just so and putting a ribbon 'round its neck that matches the decor....these are the things we cannot leave to machines.

So if A is taken care of, then we wives can spend more time on B, the things that really make a house a home.

It is the higher plan of the universe for all beings to have lives of beauty, harmony, and abundance.

              Allowing is the key.

Were do you get that friend? As Jesus said we will always have the poor with us. Clearly God punishes people with want and deprivation for their own good.

Unlimited abundance exists for everyone. It is waiting only for them to claim it and give it permission to come into their lives.

I confess if I was married I would find temptation in purchasing home appliances for my wife so that we could spend more time witnessing to other non believing heathens who need the light of the word.
I think God knew I might have this dilemma regarding the appliance issue therefore he has so far has made my walk through the this earthly hell garden a lone walk, but he has provided Spam, the incredible all purpose meat in a can for me so that I wouldn’t be tempted to take a wife or worry over appliances. Thank God for spam, as you don’t even need a can opener to eat.

I have ruined so many clothes by not sorting them properly, using bleach, and ironing. A woman is so much better at these things.
