Re: Nominations for Freehold Man of the Year

I would like to second Sister Charli's nomination for my wonderful fiancee, James Dewitt.

Apart from being just the most wonderful man I have ever met (apart from Jesus of course), he has also made a mass contribution to the city of Freehold with his multiple business ventures which in turn, has helped Freehold become the Godly Christian Community the Lord intended it to be. He is the opitomy of a True Christian™ in my eyes.

    Sister Phebe.

    There's Jesus here,
Just see what He offers me....
    Down here my sins forgiven,
Up there a home in heaven
Praise God, That's the way for me!!

He has been blessed by God, for he is a special creation in God's eyes. This man will be remembered in history books. He has done more to advance the Word of God more than anybody since the time of Paul. He is assured a place in Heaven and the most perfect example of a human being ever created. Yet despite his superhuman essence, he remains very humble about it all.

I nominate myself, Rev. Jim Osborne.
      Erm...

      Reverend Jim,

While the above is undoubtably the truth and if able I would have seconded the above nomination(if multi noms were allowed), it appears that the rule is: Reverends and Pastors cannot be nominated.

Quite a blow for us all I can assure you.

      Sister Phebe.

Brother Nobar is a great nomination--- he has done so much over the past year with the Zoning Commission and the Citizen's Police Advisory Board to get W. Main Street cleaned up and to crack down on the Nigra loiterers!! I believe that the flower boxes and planters on Veterans Highway and Davis St. were his work, as well.

Sister how can we regular Christians compare to a Pastor or a Reverend? Think of it like this, if say Phebe and yourself where to enter the Miss Universe contest, how would the other women compete? It would be quite unfair.

Re: Nominations for Freehold Man of the Year

Can I nominate Jesus, or is that blasphemous?
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.

God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

In that case, I'd like to nominate that little Hawkins boy who just went into the hospital with that condition the doctors claimed was "terminal". I'm confident that God only blessed him with that affliction so the Godly Pastors can perform a good old-fashioned faith healing for us. When he miraculously recovers thanks to our prayers, it sure will be a mighty testament to God's Love. What better Freehold Man of the Year could there be?

With his kind permission, I am nominating perhaps the greatest man I know - Mr. Joseph Whitford Sr. A shining example of God's love, he was cured of choosing the sodomite deathstyle and now volunteers his time with young homers to show them the errors of their ways and that there IS a path out of the darkness they've decided to immerse themselves in.
An entrepreneur, Mr. Whitford started with one beauty salon and built it into a vast empire that includes such diverse holdings as salons, barber shops, chastity belt stores, my former company - Born Again Baby Dolls, mercenary security companies, and so much more.
He is a Platinum Tither in church, and donates hundreds of thousands of dollars every year to the Republican Party and various GOP candidates.
Despite all of this, he still finds time to visit Des Moines regularly and do a little street corner preaching.

These have been good nominations so far, they really have. But I am thinking that if you're going to nominate somebody to be Freehold's Man of the Year, the award should go to somebody who not only keeps the community organized, but also safe and well protected even on weekends.

A real man's man, you know. Somebody who is not only a servant of the public, but also a leader of the public.

Just out of curiosity, I was wondering, is there any restriction on nominating a police officer? I was just wondering.
