quite simply, a question from someone who is genuinely interested - why are you a christian? how can you accept some of the things on this forum? it becomes almost ridiculous - for example - crazy old mans post on how to get a child is just ridiculous - for example - beat the mother with a rod at 5 months - quite simply - how can you posssibly accept that? if I saw someone whipping a heavily pregnant women in the chest with a rod I'd call the cops, not praise Jesus

If I was presented with such a massive weight of evidence as to render opposition meanningless (big bang, old earth, evolution, round earth) - why on earth would you rail against it? you post silly comments such as "if we're from monkeys, wheres my tail", or "how come humans aren't still giving birth to humans" - it's all very well to have an opposite oppinion on an issue, but at least be knowledgeable about it - I wouldn't enter, for example, a debate on the supposed geneology of Jesus, on the simple grounds that I don't know enough about it - comments such as "why aren't humans giving birth to monkeys" are the equivelant of me posting a thread saying "PROOF OF THE SATANISM OF DOGS" - with the text "dog = god backwards, therefore satan" - you'd quite rightly view it as ignorant trash, and yet you become angry when the same complaints are raised against you - it's quite simply illogical

furthermore, why do you live your live in such a manner - does doubt never cross your mind? do you never wonder "what if I'm wrong"? why are you happy with withholding not only lifes pleasures, but useful information? why do you follow a book written at a time when iron swords were the next big thing in weapon technology a viable guide for modern life? why not consider that any intelligent god would surely accept some now nonsensical rules being changed - as an example thereof, any male christian who reads this, would, I presume, go to church regularly. However, imagine that one day, as you get into your car, the car door crushes one of your testicles - unlikely, but possible. Would you forsake church thereafter? would any christian parents accept it if I raped their young daughter, but then paid them fifty silver shekels and agreed to marry her? would you honestly not call the cops, or more likely, shoot me?

can any of you truly make this claim?

I praise His Holy Name(c) when I see a True Christian Man(tm) doing his True Christian Duty(tm) by pounding on a pregnant woman's stomach until her vagina starts to ooze mysterious fluids. The fact that people feel the need to produce so much evidence against the Bible just shows that they are desperate to bring more souls to Hell. If they were confident in what they believed they wouldn't be trying to prove it to everybody else.

Uh.... you seem to have a deluded idea of a Christian life. Bad things and injuries WILL happen to you. God does not promise a happy and pain free life if you follow him, but one filled with suffering. Did Jesus not say "Pick up your cross and follow me?" referencing the painful journey to Calvary's Hill where he had to carry his heavy cross until he collapsed.

And look at Job, though that was Satan's doing.

wrong - by the very nature of it being a christian forum, it must be a forum for debating
after all, the bible tells you to love thy neighbour, which is assumed to mean every single person
this would suggest that you should take, at the very least, some effort to avoid harm to other people
since hell would be eternal torment, you should be, at the very least, slightly attempting to avoid that result,
if you are able to, for any person. therefore, if you are so sure that you are correct, you should debate wherever
possible, in order to attempt to bring people into the grace of god.
