Does God command us to drink our own urine?

Well I should have known better than to pick up the current issue of Popular Science magazine, as anywhere you find scientists, you will surely find unborn children being murdered for their stem cells and born children being taught that we are all descended from Adam and Steve, who were a pair of gay monkeys.

But I did, and was greeted with the following article, which was clearly designed to undermine the Bible:

    http://www.popsci.com/science/articl...your-own-urine

WARNING: Do not click the above link unless you are comfortable viewing a racy image of a giraffe (whose lips are more supple than those of Hollywood whore Angelina Jolie) engaging in the sick sexual practice commonly referred to as "water sports."

Regarding the practice of drinking one's own urine, Popular Science has this to say:

Proverbs 5:15 is thought to be in support of the act (“Drink waters from thy own cistern, flowing water from thy own well”)...
Perhaps they should rename their little rag "Popular Sacrilege!"

I'm not so sure. The Scripture could certainly be seen as that, but then again I'm no Pastor, just a humble wordsmith labouring for Christ and a fair day's pay.

It's this bit they use to justify it that unsettles me. And my stomach.

Celts in the Iberian peninsula gargled it to whiten their teeth about 50 years before Christ
Anything Irish-Dago mongrels would use as a cosmetic tooth treatment is just not to be trusted. Drunken Paddy practices can whiskye off to hell faster than a nuclear powered suppository from Grandmaster Asshead Satan himself.

The jury's still out on this for me.

Re: Does God command us to drink our own urine?

drinking urine, i would not do!!!
but there is nothing motre tastier than what is written down in this article:

Every early spring, a foul odor fills the air of Dongyang, Zhejiang Province. Dongyang people call it “the smell of spring.”
Yuck, it’s actually the smell of urine. And prepare yourself for this: Dongyang people boil eggs in boy’s urine and sell them at 1.50 yuan (23 cents) apiece. It sells like hot cakes.

The convention of eating such eggs, called tong zi dan (童子蛋) in Chinese, literally Boy Egg, is so deeply entrenched that the city of Dongyong listed it as local intangible cultural heritage in 2008.
Boy egg vendors go to local elementary schools to collect urine from prepubertal boys, preferrably under the age of 10, with buckets.
School boys are programmed to the collection mechanism. When nature calls, they go out of the classroom and urinate into a plastic bucket placed on the aisle. Teachers at most schools acquiesced to such behavior. They even remind kids from time to time to avoid peeing inside if they have got a fever. Kids heed what teachers say.
Ms. Li introduced her tip of boiling eggs in boys’urine: first, soak eggs in urine and heat them over the stove. After it boils, get all eggs out and crack their shells before putting them back. After a while, pour in new urine. Repeat it and simmer eggs for an entire day.

      Eggs soaked in urine
Many customers came to Ms.Li’s for the eggs. “It is so yummy. I can eat 10 within a day,” Ms Liu came to Dongyang with her husband several years ago. “I’d never tried it before. After my first taste of it, I’ve become addicted to it,” she said.
A net user who goes by the name “xingdande” (姓蛋的, literally Surnamed Egg) summed up Dongyang people’s love of boy eggs in his microblog: it tastes like spring.

Of course, not all people in Dongyang find the idea fascinating. Mr. Li, a native-born Dongyang resident, has never tried it in the past 30 years. “The smell kills me. I feel like throwing up at the thought of it. It stinks.”
In the eyes of many Dongyang people, eggs boiled in boys’urine is a must-have nourishment in spring. Vendors will always tell you, after eating it, you won’t feel sleepy during spring or get a heat stroke during summer.

Wu Yunhua (吴允华), a doctor practicing Chinese medicine, said that, the food has a time-honored history. When living standards were much poorer before, egg was the only nutritious food for peasants, who labored on farms. Urine crystalizes after standing for a while. The crystal is similar in terms of efficacy to a kind of Chinese medicine called renzhongbai. It can treat yin deficiency, decrease internal body heat, promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis. However, she stressed that not everyone is suitable for consuming it. It depends on the individual body nature.
However, Huang Jian (黄坚), director of Department of Nephrology at Central Hospital in the city of Jinhua, said that urine is waste expelled from human body and basically contains no substance conducive to human health. Therefore, he discourages people from eating those eggs.
Jia Suqing (贾素庆), a doctor at Chinese Medicine Hospital in the city of Jinhua, said that in ancient times, prepubertal boys’ urine was often used as an ingredient to enhance efficacy of medication. But from modern-day point of view, it is rather unsanitary. “However, it has become a local custom. I don’t encourage or object to it,” he said.

Re: Does God command us to drink our own urine?

I don't think the Bible really commands True Christians(tm) to drink their own urine. As mr. Shepherd pointed out, there may be some perverted chinks engaging in urine-drinking ceremonies, but your Bible quotation doesn't seem to support urine-drinking:

            Proverbs 5:15:
Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well.

A cistern is a basin to catch rainwater, which serves as a fresh water source. As I always take Scripture literally, I don't think that this Verse is talking about urine. Though, of course, there may be some false christians who like to see "metaphorical" meanings in Scripture who do drink their own urine because of this Verse.

On the other hand: eating our own excrements is a very different thing: God actually commands Ezekiel to bake cookies out of his own excrements and eat them:

            Ezekiel 4:12:
And thou shalt eat it as barley cakes, and thou shalt bake it with dung that cometh out of man, in their sight.

So you might say that God is cool with you eating your own excrements.
            Sweet Lord Jesus,
I want to pray for those who persecute me, my Lord.
Please, treat their children as you treated those of Egypt, when they upset you! (Psalm 135:8-9)
Dash their little children against the stones for their fathers iniquity! (Psalm 137:8-9)
Hit them on the cheek, and smash out their teeth! (Psalm 3:7)
Make their death and descent into Hell swift and terrible! (Psalm 55:15)
Scatter their broken bodies over the streets of their evil cities, like Benghazi, Amsterdam, Tokyo and Mecca! (Psalm 110:6)
            Praised be Your Glorious Name™.

            Amen.

Re: Does God command us to drink our own urine?

I've been researching this since yesterday and just stumbled onto this site. I've been a Christian since '79, not a good one but a true believer all the same.

I'm not a big believer in organized religion but always had a respect for the old southern Babtist chruch, as they tell it like it is.

I find THIS site very offensive and unChristian like and can't believe my eyes, seeing what some of you guys write! And the header banner above!

I think some of you guys are going to be very unhappily surprised when that final day does come and you're standing before God. The judging I see in this forum is so very sad and a very bad place for someone that's lost but looking for God, our Christ Jesus.

I know that times change and each generation seems to exceed the last as far as sin goes but, God NEVER changes and will be the ultimate judge!

We should be setting an example of love, fairness and acceptance and let God say who's going to hell or heaven, NOT YOU!

What do you mean by "not a good one"? You are either with Christ, or you're not (Revelation 3:15-16).

Since we follow the Bible for 100% (as commanded in James 2:10) this means you disagree with God, not with us.

We should be setting an example of love, fairness and acceptance and let God say who's going to hell or heaven, NOT YOU!
You seem to have overlooked a lot of the Bible, did you even bother to read it? Not only does God allow us to judge others, we are required to judge others! (Leviticus 19:15)

                  Leviticus 19:15
                  King James Version (KJV)

15 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.
5 Reasons why GOD HATES WOMEN!
To most "Christians" The Bible is like a license agreement. They just scroll to the bottom and click "I agree". All those "Christians" will burn in Hell!
James 2:10 "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all."

Re: Does God command us to drink our own urine?

Using the word of God to twist it to your own needs so you can sin is the worse kind of sin.

God WILL be judging ALL of us including YOU! So, you are the ones needing to find the true meaning of the bible. I know I'm a sinner and will NEVER act like all of you! And as far as your hypocritical reasoning, read!

Judge not, lest you be judged, Matthew 7:1, and when it's righteous, "Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy." (Prov 31:9), meaning it's not right to make fun of others, that's a sin and can be proven in the Bible, but,

                    Like Jesus warned,
Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

You can fool some people, but God won't let you fool me.

Also, you'll NEVER see me back here again, but I will pray for you.

Yes and no. If you would have read the bible, you would know that there is only one sin that cannot be forgiven. That is of course blasphemy against the Holy spirit. However, I agree that interpreting the Bible is really horrible.

That is why we follow the Bible to the letter.
