My first car was a 1962 Corvette Stingray. Now that was a car. Nowadays, I tend to higher-end luxury vehicles like my Mercedes Benz S600, but God does love Germany so there's nothing wrong with that. You'd never find myself slumming in a Jap car, let me tell you that, though! The NSX is nothing more than a glorified Civic.

I realize that this thread is a bit dated, but as an automotive enthusiast I must chime in.

The Acura/Honda NSX is one of the great sports cars of all time. Its attributes have nothing to do with its owner base; it was designed for the automotive enthusiast. If you think it was made for pedophiles, that is your own delusion and I am sincerely saddened that you cannot appreciate this fantastic car for what it is.

It is a mid-engined car, rear wheels drive, and relatively light. Also, it was designed to be a driver's car, and by all accounts that I've read it accomplishes this goal better than most cars. Certainly better than any new bloated Mercedes or American car.

Another word about American cars: Many of these vehicles sold under American marques are manufactured in Canada and Mexico. On the flip side, many Japanese cars (such as the Accord and Camry) are manufactured in the United States. BMW itself produces every single one of its SUVs just up Interstate 85 from me in Spartanburg, SC.

Not that there's anything wrong with any of this. I have a healthy appreciation for all cars, no matter the origin.

Also, in response to that video above: That is an example of gross driver error. He lifted off of the throttle in the middle of the slide and overcorrected. Even the best cars will hit the wall if you drive them straight into it.
