This whole situation is starting to remind me of that incident with Bobby Joe and the bunnyman.
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.

But the question that I am asking is a different one. The question could be put two ways:

        1) Would you rather be poor with love, or rich with love?
        2) Would you rather be miserable and poor or miserable and rich?
My my Enobarbus, what a good little boy you are to read a metaphor the wrong way!

No one is EVER too young to become a Baptist. Just think, all you little girls could dress up in fluffy pink dresses, and matching shoes and white gloves and go to church every Sunday morning instead of wasting your lives as worthless pagans.

What metaphor? I am simply attempting to get you and Hellswit to follow a straight logical path instead of just parroting all this fluffy-bunny hippie nonsense that the pair of you are so keen on.

"I'd rather be poor and have love than be rich and lonely." Blah, blah, blah, yap, yap, babble, babble...

But if you are talking about romantic love, there is no such thing -- at least not in the way you imagine it.

Of course, it may take you until you are about 30 to realise that what I'm saying is true. But true it is. Pull yourself together you little brat, and stop dreaming.

Ixi, think of all the new friends that you might make if you went to church. You may meet some rich family and make friends with their kids and they take you out on the yacht, and trips...

There may be one or two cute and cool boys there who, being good Baptists, don't try to have their wicked way with you before you've finished saying, "Hi". You may meet the love of your life there, marry him, and live happily ever after. Of course you will spend your time at home and produce lots of little Ixi's and Avias and Kestrels. (Preferably no Adias), but think of the wonderful time you will have looking after, nurturing, and loving little kiddies of you own? What more could you want?

But does she want a Baptist man, or just any fellow who happens to have five dollars and ten minutes on his hands? Maybe she was trying to steal a bit of Lilith's custom.
