I think you'll actually find that London has the largest economy in the UK.

I think you have to realise that the industrial revolution is over - the North certainly doesn't make money to support London. Perhaps people like you feel hard done by, because you probably don't have a proper job (I'm getting good at these assumptions) or you're surviving on minimum wage. If you seriously think that the North supports the south....

I think you'll actually find money is made differently nowadays. In the 19th century and early 20th century manufacturing was lucrative and important to the UK economy.
