Anyhoo, just to bring you up to date, I asked "Boy", my faithful retainer, to go and look for my dog last night. He DID ask for directions. Strangely enough though, the dog's back but he isn't, so I'm rather busy manicuring my own toe-nails.

I certainly won't be going to your poetry slam. I'm sure I have better things to do.
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

I wholeheartedly agree. Your Poetry Slam does need added to it the sound of a lion escaping into the audience, devouring and ripping apart the ligaments of certain lesbian poets.

Wow! Well, Professor X, you certainly can elicit a response!
I am a White male Christian. Obviously there are some major differences in our core values, but I don't see how condemning your beliefs, poetry or person will be helpful in winning you over to a new Faith in Christ.
As a poet, I can appreciate your desire to be understood.
Your writing is very expressive and you have a good use imagery.
But I think where you to try to shock or offend falls short of true emotional expression. I can pick up on your anger, frustrations, passions and convictions. But is that all that you have to offer? I hear anger and hate. Where is your hope? I hear erotic passion and lust. Where is love? Do you even know what love is? I hear your frustration and conviction of personal belief. But what do you put your faith in? And how are you accomplishing the goals of your beliefs by posting your work in place that stands against that which you subscribe to? Seems to me that if your beliefs are valid you shouldn't seek affirmation of those beliefs through antagonistic conflict.

                The Vision Changes

The vision changed. A sullen wind drifts the darkness in silence stirring the spirit to its shadowed self. Pain follows in the moment taken for its feel. At least pain has substance relative to the waking moment. Stillness is lost to the vanity of emotions played out in thoughtless echoes of passions lost by the living of them. Nothing remains. There are memories, but what of that? So much is left of what would rather yet be left forgotten. A serenity remains in the moment eyes release their tears.

The vision changed. An image blurred in the salted flood of rushing tears. Clarity is not the same with sanity washed away in violent repetitions of a spirit broken by these rivers of feeling. Pain calls out to the hopes once born in wishful hearts desolate for want of love. Arms ache so for their embrace of emptiness. Alone but for loneliness kept in company. A rhythm in steady heartbeat sounds out the falling rains. Let these tears remain the focus of what lost lucidity shadows in what wishes see.

The vision changed. Clouded winter skies lit beneath baleful moonlight. A cold formless breeze chills the heart with thoughts that remind of the emptiness of what is left behind. A lone, single stone. Forgotten names and dates. Places outside tell again of inside the heart and its drifted snow fallen walls. Barricaded ice flows a frozen emotion trapped in a moment of forever then gone. Immediately and in that very place it remains. No falling tears for the barren frozen heart, they yet will fall the same.

The vision changed. A shadow cast does outline reflections left to the remembered past. Distant lays echoes’ what hints of a child’s laugh. Quiet whispers in gentle moments few but precious in their birth. Can laughter find the merry heart madness has lost in living splendor? Songs of joyous glee more perhaps the dirge could better suit such fond farewell love bequeaths as its final testament of grace. Would that love could endure such sweet treasure as what such bitter tears are bound to make.

The vision changed. A single point in focus as all else falls away. With the blinding passions that rage within these inner places a moment passes without conscience presence. What is left that can ever remain unchanged? A time for a season then all things must pass away. Let them go. Mourn but remember what tears are falling for, who their falling for. Why, does not matter. No such questions ever find their answer but only deeper confusions. Let living guide its own path and release the lost.

The vision changed. Summer sun set sky a lone star shines early in the birthing night. Wish upon a falling star perhaps this dream shall touch the earth. Peace stirs in the quiet starlight where wonder waits for the mind to find the enchantment of a moment lost in the rapture of imagination. The gifting Spirit of our creator meant for man to discover the wonder of creation. The moment is but a moment before it is cast aside for the cares of this side of life. So soon shall come the day without promise.
                The vision changes....

MARX MY HERO by Prof. Tyeisha X.
It was a fall day one year
                  many years ago
                  in the fall
when my life was tumbling like a tumbleweed
                  And when I discovered him
                  I realized
                  The Truth
                  was hidden from me
by racist fascists who want to keep black women down
                  I discovered him
                  Karl Marx
I read him in the original German
it dazzled me like a romance novel
                  I found my cause
                  overthrow capitalism
                  overthrow the white race
                  Now it is your turn
                  Feel what I've felt
                  Open that book of Marx
                  Read Das Kapital

                            TUNA SANDWICHES
                            By Professor Tyeisha X

When hunger creeps up on you
And you want to bite into a sandwich
Do you eat a plain peanut butter and jelly
                            Or experiment with something tastier?

Liberated woman cries: I WANT A TUNA SANDWICH!
                            Gloria Steinem's fresh tuna sandwich
                            Angela Davis's tangy tuna sandwich
                            Andrea Dworkin's powerfully-scented tuna sandwich

The liberated woman eats it raw
                            Fresh out of the can
Stuffing her face into the sandwich
                            Don't want it cleaned
                            I want it au natural
                            Musky tuna odor and dolphin-safe.

                            I scarf down the tuna sandwich;
                            I am so hungry
                            Hungry like a wolf
I'm on the huntdown after you
                            Smells like a sound
                            I'm lustin' abound
And I'm hungry like the wolf

                            Juices like wine
Slurp up the tuna juice from the can
                            Swallow the essence of woman
                            Lunch time is now over
