Conservative grassroots group Grassfire.org wants people to waste as much energy as possible on June 12 by "hosting a barbecue, going for a drive, watching television, leaving a few lights on, or even smoking a few cigars."

The point: the group wants to "help Americans break free from the 'carbon footprint guilt' being imposed by Climate Alarmists."

Grassfire.org said it chose June 12 as the day it wants Americans to rev up their SUVs because it coincides with expected debate in Congress...

London's Daily Telegraph this week called environmentalism "the new secular faith."

The paper said the United Kingdom's carbon credits program for industry is "just like the medieval trade in indulgences, where remission for sins was granted by the Church once the sinner confessed and received absolution."

I agree: environmentalists are members of a false religion, and should be treated the same Biblical way as other false religions (Non-Christians/satanists).

So, rev up your SUV's to kill two birds with one stone: tree-huggers, and satanists!

Well, I'll do my bit, I'll cut down a few trees with my buzz-saw and set fire to them. I think breaking open a few old refrigerators might help as well. And I'll send Mrs Bathfire on a pointless flight to Seattle and back.

I would encourage folks to run as many empty loads of laundry as possible. And remember to set the timer on the dryer to a full sixty minutes! I do this sometimes when Elmer's around, just to look busy.

PS Don't forget the bleach!

PS PS While you're baking in the kitchen, leave the SUV running with the AC on MAX so you can step outside and cool off every now and then.

You use hot water, I trust.

I plan to set the AC to a slightly lower temperature than the heater, just to watch them do battle.

Also, this isn't directly related to carbon, but you ladies really should exfoliate more, so you'll be beautiful for your husbands. Don't waste your money on the "natural" or "organic" stuff unless you want to look like Lumpy or Mrs. Ingram-Myers. Go for the kind with the polyethylene microgranules.

Perhaps I need to pray on this more. I already leave my Escalades running 24/7, and I carry on the Flint family custom of running the air conditioners on high while enjoying a roaring blaze in the fireplace. I thought that was enough to demonstrate my faith in God (rejecting the known communist Al Gore). But the many excellent suggestions I've seen posted here make me realize that my feeble efforts may be inadequate.

I'll have my jap gardeners do some clearcutting somewhere (I need my trees for shade during the many summer barbecues I hold on my estate, because the multiple outdoor air conditioners are sometimes inadequate on hot days). I'll have to talk to the Indonesian houseboys about running the washers and dryers more often, and for no particular reason. I'm pretty sure there is a laundry room somewhere in my 25,000 square foot home, but I'm not sure where it is.

I've been saving up some leaves and grass clippings. They're getting really dry at this point. I guess it's time to burn them with the rest of my construction debris. That would make a wonderful contribution to the cause.

I was going to celebrate by inviting a number of Goths and Wiccans to The Monthly Visitor to dine on my guests' menstrual blood, and then douse them with gasoline and set them ablaze just as they realize they're sucking ketchup from napkins.

I thought about going to the local seven eleven and propping the doors slightly open to the coolers. They have 9 of them.

I've also been waiting for a good time to put my car on my home lift and run it in reverse for several thousand miles.

I've been saving up to buy some old growth timber in the Pacific North West for clear cutting. Not ready yet but next year.

This year I've had all the ganders save up all the cutting and brush for a bonefire. Pastor Zeke has the idea, I think I'll get some outdoor airconditioners so I can watch the fire in comfort.

OK, let's make sure no one does anything illegal, like burn other people's property.

We should probably have a big barbecue down by the lake. The grills have enough space for as many bags of coal as you can bring, so everyone bring one. I'm always up for a good party.

Mr. Thyme and I are in the process of closing on a fully-furnished 36-room home replete with home entertainment systems, security, computers, and various other electronics. We plan to have everything switched on for the 72-hour time frame surrounding June 12th in that home plus in our primary residence here in Freehold, our cottage in Jamaica, and our flat in Mayfair, London. We are also considering taking an "any way the wind blows" cruise in our Learjet that day. We love the idea of doing our part for Jesus. GLORY!

Glory! This thread reminds me of the 17th and 18th verses of the 9th chapter of the Book of Revelations:

And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone. By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.
