I actually went to a piano bar with my boyfriend and two other couples. There is nothing unseemly about spending time with your friends and listening to good music. I can assure you my father is not mortified by any of this.

That thread was insulting, belittling, and I personally found it a little ridiculous. You may think the devil believes in me but I do not believe in him so he therefore has no hold on me.

The greatest deception of the devil is to trick foolish people like you into believing that he doesn't exist. If you continue on the path you are on, I can guarantee that you will find out firsthand that the devil exists and that hell is very much a real place.

As for your claim that there is nothing unseemly about spending time in a den of vice and iniquity - there is simply nothing in the Holy Bible (KJV1611) to back that up.

I am pretty sure when your bible was wriiten such a thing as piano bars did not exist then so of course it would not be mentioned in your bible. Just because something is not covered in the bible does not mean that it is then by definition base and evil; be reasonable.

True Christian men have authority to judge from God. By studying His Word they are able to judge righteously: John 7:24 and determine whether your behaviour conforms with Biblical standards. Single women hanging around sleazy piano-bars with unrelated men is not specifically mentioned in The Bible but decadence more generally is:

Prohibitions against fornication are still current, and God's response is consistent.

By committed relationship I mean we are engaged and living together with roommates and plan to get married within the year.

I understand that you feel the need to "warn" me but please refrain from mentioning my father. He is a good god-fearing man and just because we see things differently there is no need to pass judgment on him. You can call me all the names you want and judge me all you'd like but do not bring my family members into this.

I wouldn't say he is fine with my choices. We do tend to actively disagree on things at times but since I live 400 miles away while I'm in graduate school he knows that it is better to let me live the way I want to than to lose his daughter because we have different tastes in religion.

And I obviously do not have the same definition of holy as you people do. My father is a holy follower of god but he does not need to take it to the extreme in all aspects of his life. He is good, provides for the family, works hard, and does anything and everything within his power to help out our neighbors, friends, and family.

You might keep home and bear children and be saved.

I am not "living away in fornication." I am living away to be in graduate school, a good one that will give me a proper education so I can have a good job in the future.

The only reason you think me an "argumentative harpy" is because I am perhaps one of the few women you know that is not afraid to speak up (especially when my family and I are being personally attacked by you).

I may have turned my back on holy values but only because having moral values is more humane. Do I clain "fellowship" with Christians? Yes I do. I have many wonderful friends who are either agnostic, atheist, christian, jew, muslim, and I even have a buddhist friend. Learning about different cultures and religions is important in today's society.

Your definition of "committed" must be different from mine. Why haven't you married him if you're actually committed to him? Why haven't you blessed him with sons if you're so committed to him?
