Say, about the boys: I am planning to be in your area soon. How about I take them shooting for a little while during my trip? I hope we can meet for a few hours and then I could load them in the car and head off to enjoy our guns and then maybe some fresh strawberries and cream?

What a perfectly lovely idea! You may have problems bringing your weapons into England, but we can supply everything you need. My boys are skilled marksmen and I hope you will be impressed at the way they work as a team, quick as bunnies, covering each other's backs at all times. They want to know if you scuba dive, as they'd like to take you spear-fishing in the English Channel.

As you are not accustomed to driving on the left-hand side of the road (yes, I am afraid that this is still a socialist country), we will provide a driver. And if my husband is available then he will join you. Indeed, he says he will make a point of being available!

The strawberry season is sadly drawing to a close, so I hope you like blackberries? Just don't pick the ones by the side of the road, where people have been walking their dogs.

We all look forward to welcoming you, especially little Hannah who is already knitting you a sweater. At least, I think that's what it is. I hope you like lime green?

I'm offended about the public outcry over the most recent Facebook news (I apologize for not linking to the original article, but I cannot access it because NY Times put up a paywall - another thing which I find offensive):

Facebook has been caught on the back foot again over its data privacy practices, following an investigation by the New York Times.
The newspaper has disclosed fresh details about ways the social network shared access to users' data with other tech firms, including Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, Netflix, Spotify and Yandex...
Examples given by the NYT include allowing others' products the ability to read users' private messages and to see the names, contact details and activities of their friends.
Facebook's handling of the matter has drawn criticism, including tweets from its own former chief security officer Alex Stamos, who has called on it to disclose more details about what special access it provided to whom.

Seriously? It's almost 2019, and people are still acting surprised when someone shows you that Facebook screws you over, and over, and over again? No deja-vu feeling? Nothing? Do all Facebook users suffer from Alzheimer's or something?

I had to look up Ben Roethlisberger and still don't know who he is but he looks as though he could do sport. At this time of year I have to meet up in places I wouldn't normally frequent and apart from the "interaction" between people who should be in homes of some sort it's the expert commentary on sporting topics from individuals obviously incapable of playing any sport ever I find not only highly amusing but also highly offensive.

I am deeply offended by the TSA sickout.

Hundreds of Transportation Security Administration officers, who are required to work without paychecks through the partial government shutdown, have called out from work this week from at least four major airports, according to two senior agency officials and three TSA employee union officials.The mass call outs could inevitably mean air travel is less secure, especially as the shutdown enters its second week with no clear end to the political stalemate in sight.

Come on, people!!! While I have not suffered the effects of a shutdown, what if I had to travel - that would be such an inconvenience, to have to stand in even longer lines just because of some TSA agents who don't want to work without receiving pay!

This is ridiculous. Don't they know that they should not ask what the country can do for them????
