LOVE rat referee Mike McCurry has lost his career as a chartered accountant amid claims of "misconduct and incompetence".
The former SPL whistler gave up his licence to practise after watchdogs ruled he was "liable to disciplinary action".
It's yet another fall from grace for McCurry, a Baptist minister who cheated on his wife with a Sunday school teacher just half his age.
He also lost his job as an SFA Grade One ref last year after a string of furious rows over his performance on the pitch.
McCurry, 45, practised as a chartered accountant under the name Jackson Lord & Company.
But his career fell apart after the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland raised concerns about his competence.
The institute's professional conduct committee ruled that McCurry should face disciplinary action over "matters pertaining to the audit and general management" of the firm.
But the investigation was halted after he agreed to give up his membership of the institute. His decision means he can no longer call himself a chartered accountant.
An institute spokesman did not give details of why McCurry had faced action under two of the institute's rules.
But he confirmed: "They were matters of professional misconduct and professional incompetence."
McCurry could not be reached for comment.
God-fearing McCurry was once one of Scot land's top referees. But his squeaky-clean image was shattered two years ago when the Record revealed his torrid six-month affair with Sunday school teacher Victoria Mathers, 21.
McCurry promised to leave his wife for his young mistress and agreed to resign as pastor of Mosspark Baptist Church in Glasgow. But he then changed his mind and turned on Victoria, branding her a stalker and a fantasist in a bid to keep his church position.
Things got even worse for McCurry last year when the SFA effectively dumped him as a top-level ref by removing him from their Grade One list two years before he was due to retire.
He had been accused of a string of blunders in high-profile games.
Dundee United manager Craig Levein, now coach of Scotland, claimed in 2008 that McCurry "bottled it" in a game between his side and Rangers by disallowing a valid United goal and refusing to give them a blatant penalty.
After his axing, McCurry worked as an after-dinner speaker.
He also developed a stage magic act, including a stunt where he hung upside down while escaping from a straitjacket.
