How Big is God?


When I was a kid I always imagined God to be really tall, like at least 6ft 5 or around that sort of area. But as I grew older and realized all he had created, it suddenly dawned on me he must be even bigger than that. Like, at least the size of a bear or something! Then I read THIS Bible verse -

“Who hath measured the (Earth's) waters in the hollow of his hand?” (Isaiah 40:12).

I just thought…. WOW! I knew he had to be real tall, but I just had virtually NO IDEA! It’s unbelievable!

Then I thought back to that time when God sent that Tsunami to kill all those thousands of people, and it destroyed all those homes and businesses. The power of this huge wave was truly a wake-up call! I thought of the Tsunami, and the huge wall of water coming inland. It was a tremendous amount of water! According to the verse above God holds ALL the water of all the oceans, much more water than the oceans of Asia, IN HIS HAND!

I tried real hard to imagine how big His hand must be, but I just couldn't! I mean, I virtually couldn’t imagine a hand THAT LARGE! It’s incredible, isn’t it?

Many times the God in our minds is a small God. The above verse gives us a visual picture of our BIG God. It blows my mind when you realize how big he really is! Try to imagine a hand that is big enough to hold all that water in its palm. WOW! Isn’t God wonderful?!

I had read that very verse in Isaiah 40:12, and you know how kids tend to get into a cycle of asking another question for every answer their given.

I was young and curious and eventually it came down to me wondering how big GOD's, ahem, well you know, was.

Weird co-incidence. I was actually asked a VERY similar question on a debate forum earlier this week. Some God-mocking atheist scumbag thought it would be amuzing to ask me why God has a tallywhacker, and what he uses it for.

He said to me "God made man in his image, so why did god give man reproductive organs? That must mean God has a tallywhacker, and if he does, what does he use it for?"

Can you believe the nerve of these people? Seriously?! That has to be one of the most pathetic questions I have EVER heard! I mean, I know ALL atheists are retarded, but I didn't think they were THAT stupid!
