1) the reason i hang out in cemeteries is because A) its quiet...no one will bother you there. it is FULL of history...i love finding old tombstones and reading epitaphs and seeing the family histories and things like that. C) Funerary art in older cemeteries are works of art...and i don't mean modern art, i mean people took a lot of time and effort to carve many of the statues that we find in cemeteries.D) It help put things in perspective of how fleeting life is and how fragile humans are...it help me shed pride and become more humble. It helps me reflect on many things but above all, the reason Christ came and the fact that for us believers the grave is not the end.

PS Your "Witches and satanists" argument is invalid because they also hang out at the mall, library, sporting events, grocery store, etc. and they are not the only groups who go to cemeteries.

3) Drugs and sex....really?!? ALL the goths i hang around have never touched drugs, and most of them are virgins and are over the age of 18, and will remain that way till they are married! Actually, i didn't become a Goth until many years after i was saved. The Bible says to not be like the world, well there are A LOT fewer goths in the world than there are people in suits and ties...so actually, by dressing as a goth, I am being MORE Christ-like. Also, i find that goth people are much more accepting of me talking to them if i come up dressed as a goth. I don't mean with satanic symbols or band t shirts...actually, most of the time i wear plain, unmarked, black and blue clothing with no bands, name brands, or anything showing. I don't curse, get drunk, do drugs, sleep around, or in any other way act ungodly...i just dress a bit different so that i can reach the people who otherwise don't want anything to do with Christians at all.

The specific situation was where the gentleman used the verse let the dead bury the dead.

If taken literally (which i think we all agree it isn't meant to be) it says let the dead people bury dead people. However, taken in context, a disciple was asking Jesus if he could go bury his father before he left to follow Him. Jesus response was, let the dead bury the dead.

Mathew 8:21-22
21And another of his disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.

22But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.

this seems to have more of the meaning of "Following Christ is the most important thing." or "If you want to follow me, follow me, now is the time, not after your father passes away and you bury him" . . . this seems the be a much better interpretation than saying that the verse means not to hang out in cemeteries.
