I believe that women are people (lesser people, of course. Leviticus 27 makes it very clear we're only worth 1/2 to 3/5 of a man, at best), simply because the alternative is far too horrifying to contemplate! Please, allow me to put forth my reasoning.

If women weren't people, then it would follow we would either be some sort of automata or animals. While the Bible doesn't specifically say anything about robots, I think its fair to say that they can't sin simply because they are robots (much in the same way any Godly conservative knows guns don't kill people). Now, if women are animals (land-dwelling, of course), it would mean that the following scripture applies:

"And if a man lie with a beast, he shall surely be put to death: and ye shall slay the beast." Leviticus 20:15

which would directly contradict this scripture:

"And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply..." Genesis 1:28

Which, of course, is impossible, since the Bible cannot contradict itself.

Ergo, I believe that women are people much in the same way that Nigras or slants are people. Lesser, and more inclined to sinfulness, but equal.

You would be correct if troy were used. However the troy pound is no longer in use, and most biblical conversion methods use avoirdupois even when speaking of precious metals. Or at least many of the ones I have come across. But either way that is till a boatload (or hundred) of money.

The troy pound [troy] is not used for anything. Gold is always quoted in ounces. The troy ounce [ozt] is used and is not the same as an ounce (avoirdupois) [oz]. A pound of gold is always a troy pound [troy].
Talents are no longer used either, but they still have a value.
Kg are standardised.
