He would have initially went to heaven had he not sought vengeance. So Satan and god agreed to put him on earth as a spirit. As far as I know, he's still in limbo.

Have you ever seen The Exorcist or The Exorcism of Emily Rose? That's a real possessed person. Both were based off true stories. There actually was a case for Emily Rose. But the real girl's name wasn't Emily Rose. It was Anneliese Michel.
