An update:

I called Mr. Whitford today to see how he was doing, and if he'd heard anything. He had some news; the sheriff contacted the Des Moines PD. They have investigated and found that indeed, one of their meter maid carts had gained excessive mileage within the last couple of days . . . a cart assigned to one Officer Martin!

The sheriff further reported that Officer Martin, his brother Thomas Martin, and the two large priests have not been seen since Tuesday morning. Officer Martin had officially gone on leave Tuesday afternoon under the Family and Medical Leave Act, supposedly to care for his brother's failing mental state.

Mr. Whitford has not received any ransom notes or other communication from the kidnappers.

Please join me in praying for Sister M&M's safe return!

Mr. Whitford also asks that we pray for someone to cook and clean for him, and to whom he may leave his vast fortune should Sister M&M not return.

Here is photographic evidence of nun running. Something does appear to be going on. I guess this one tried a runner and they got her back. Or do they just put their prisoners in a habit ASAP and don't bother hiding their human cargo? Do these Cathylics stop at nothing?

Well, as I was a -walking over by Des Moines, I saw this one note:

Dear Landoverians,

I bet you are all wondering what has happened to your Sister Mary Maria. You know we did not like her husband Mr. Whitford always controlling her existence and forcing her through this abusive church. After a while, we decided to put up or shut up, which led us to finally take action to rescue her. It was then that we realized that a speed bump we hit on the way back home knocked her unconscious, giving her a case of amnesia. Taking the opportunity, we told her she was a Catholic Sister led away by a false bible and a wicked "husband". We let her know that we have gotten the "marriage" annulled by the Vatican (meaning no valid one existed), so she could come back to the convent devoting her life once again to prayer and community service. She agreed to do it.

We are pleased to announce that she is now back in the Convent of St. Claire, choosing Christ as her spouse once again. You'll have to go there if you want to lead her astray again, and now the provincial has hired numerous armed guards, with orders to shoot to kill if they see you. We also have a profile ready on a matchmaker site for Mr. Whitford to look for another wife to beat and abuse, I guess (hopefully not). All is well with everyone. Make no attempt to see any of them again.

That is what I picked up. I do hope the DMPD can find police strong enough to take the Martin brothers down and bring them to justice! (if they send regular officers, it would just be cop vs. cop)

This really is bad news. Sister MM was very instrumental in forming the Summer 2008 Landover mission to Australia, and we missed her on Weds. at the planning meeting. Everyone was a little un-nerved, to say the least.
