You don't think things through, do you? It's an evil influence on children. It teaches kids that its okay to murder, steal, cannibalize, maim, disrespect others, etc. It also makes certain kids viable to commit mass murders and school shootings. Plus the video game violates the Bible. Case closed.

First of all.





Secondly, the game does not require you to be evil in it. I have played the game and thoroughly enjoy it. I understand that most of you will see this as a satanic and hellish murder simulator (like everything these days), but I see it as an emotional and touching story about a child trying to re-unite with his/her father, and trying to better the world.


I'll give away a little of the plot here: The overall goal of the game is to activate a water purifier to try and help the wasteland.

You are never forced into being evil. The option is there, but most of the time there are far greater rewards for being good, actually. I have played the game a few times through, sometimes being good, sometimes going out of my way to be the most evil b***tard that ever lived. I found that the Evil route got you lots of money, but little in the way of friendship (indeed, most people will attack you on sight), wheras the good way got you plenty of friendly people and a nicer existence in the wasteland. To quote the original poster:

"What kind of message is this sending your children!?"

This brings me on to my 3rd point: The game is rated 18+ here in the UK, and I believe it's rated MA in America. If you don't want your kids playing the game, don't let them have it. Simple.

If you trust your children to understand the difference between reality and fantasy, and trust them to use the morals and standards that you have taught them over what some character in a game says.

Saying that a game results in crime is just a scapegoat for bad parenting. My son, who is 15, has been playing violent games since he was 8, and I have allowed him to play 15s and 18s, as well as seeing them. He is free spirited and I allow him to be an individual.

So is he a violent shell of a boy who hates everyone and worships the devil? Of course not. He's the exact opposite. He's a polite, well-mannered boy who wouldn't even hurt a fly. He is doing well in school and hopes to become a psychologist in a future career.




I hope you can realise that you can't just shelter your kid from harm's way, he has to be able to make his own choices and, as a result, myself and my son often have a blast discussing our latest adventures in the "capital wasteland" as it is called in Fallout 3.


Stop using games for a scapegoat.

Secondly, I was not aware that intolerance and intimidation was a "teaching of god"

Thirdly, Being unable to voice an opinion that opposes an original opinion isn't evil or sinning, it's just having an opinion.


I seriously would consider taking a good look at yourself and asking whether your interpretation of the bible is really the right one because, so far, all I have seen on this site is prejudice, hate and intolerance.
