It seems to be a recurring problem with kids these days.
To much video and not enough outside time and Bible study.
When I was a kid growing up in New York every day we kids would play wonderfull games, stick ball, kick the can, hide and seek and my all time favorite catch a nigra and make him wet himself. Each night it was 3 hours of Bible study and then off to bed by8:30pm. We grew up OK.

Video games are pretty much the 21st century equivalent of your toys back in the 1960s?70s? The only problem is that parents these days are extremely lazy and expect games to take care of their child. That's why so many kids these days are exceptionally rude/socially awkward/irresponsible.

1. While playing video games, one does not stare at the screen like a glass eyed zombie. The player has to constantly think and come up with solutions to the game's problems. Cowboys and Indians is a game which involves far too much shouting and not enough exercise. I'm not saying that video games are THE BEST THING that ever happened to entertainment, but a balance of things is what it's all about.

2. Of course it's not the same, but unlike going off on your own and building stuff that doesn't work, video games allow players to experiment with their ideas in a consequence free environment where if they fail they can always try again without any penalties. Tell me, what amazing object have you built when you were growing up? What tools were you fiddling around with?
