Re: DO NOT LET YOUR KIDS PLAY TEAM FORTRESS 2!!!
What the fuck is this thread?I genuinely do not understand why you guys are triggered over a nearly 9 year old game with bad optimisation and a team that doesn't even communicate with their fanbase anymore.
I think you seem to have the wrong end of the stick here.
Firstly, Team Fortress 2 is rated 15 in the UK, 16+ in Europe and M (17+) in the USA. That therefore means, that if your child is under the age of 15 16 or 17 (in the respective countries/continents of course)... well, they shouldn't be playing it. The "homosexual" parts of the game are not fully stated by Valve, or even IMPLIED. The Medic is a "Support" character that assists others when they are on low health with his "Medi Gun". The voice lines you are referring to are oriented towards defending the Medic, not referring to homosexuality. The Soldier is a stereotypical American, designed as being tongue-in-cheek and not meant to be taken seriously. Team Fortress 2, believe it or not, is set in a universe where God doesn't exist. I know! Shocking, right? These voice lines merely reference God, and are not a "sin" in any way, shape or form.
Regarding your opinion on the art style, of course they're supposed to look threatening, it's a First Person Shooter, which also contains another gory shooter, DOOM. If anything, you should be attacking that game, as it refers to Hell, Demons and GUNS. This, in comparison, should be rated 3+, U or E.
I know this post was made in 2010, but as a user of Steam and Team Fortress 2 for 3 years and with 2,840 hours on record (as of this post), this post just got under my skin like a parasite.
Also, to these baptists and Christians, I am a Christian myself too, I still pray to God, go to Church, etc. As well as this, Team Fortress 2, from a critic's standpoint, is not a terrible game. The graphics are still pretty solid for a game that was made in an engine that is 12 years old (Source). The controls are fluent and responsive, each class is refreshing to play. There's a large trading economy (http://backpack.tf/) and a whole host of "TF2 Youtubers", one of them is known as Muselk and he posts Team Fortress 2 content nearly every week (https://www.youtube.com/user/MrMuselk). I'll admit, this did give me a bit of a laugh, and the fact that OP's punishment was downright funny too. Jeez, for playing a game? That's harsh...
I mean, making this account was a pain to be honest. I don't even own a King James Bible, so I had to find the verse on the internet. Maybe you should make it easier to register, but hey the site is rubbish anyway.
But hey, if you believe that this 9 year old, free to play game that has 60k people playing at one time and is the 4th most popular game at the moment is a sin, I'm all for it. But I have to ask: What games have you guys played? Candy Crush on iOS, Shovelware Titles on Wii and/or DS? Oh wait, you probably haven't played ANY.
