Yes, it does make you look rather unsophisticated. The larger, underlying theme of the entire Landover Baptist Church website is really about helping people resolve their concerns about going to either heaven or hell.


We encourage people to read the Bible for themselves and confront what it really says in toto rather than accept a filtered version that fits within any given church's framework.


Once a person has tasted of this True(tm) knowledge, it is their decision to either live life naked and vulnerable, fearful of an eternity in hell, or clothed in wisdom and confidence, knowing that there is no hell waiting for them.

God feels the sorrow and pain of sinners opposing Him every single moment. He grieves. And it is sinners such as you who are doing it to Him. It is something we are actually unable to even imagine.

If a verse is listed here by any member of the Landover Baptist Church, it really can be found in the Bible.

That's an odd way of putting it. According to the Bible, we are all God's creation and those who have been so chosen are His followers. Therefore, it is strange for you to suggest that we claim Him as a possession. And your judgments regarding His sexist and racist thinking are a result of your modern sensibilities. If God didn't want the sexes and races to be regarded differently, He would have given humankind a different set of commandments.

According to what I was taught, Jesus did indeed suffer terrible, excruciating pain. Every sin ever committed and every sin ever to be committed was laid on His Perfect sinless self. Jesus took on the punishments for our sins that God -- in His Holiness-- had no choice but to inflict. Moreover, because Jesus IS God, He felt the same personal disgust as His Father when absorbing all those horrible sins. That is why, whenever someone masturbates, the thorns stick a little further into Jesus' forehead and draw more blood.

But you need to know ALL the stories to understand the important messages God is sending through His Word. You can't decide to accept one part of the Bible as true and certain other parts as lies because one of the BIG messages that God sends is that lies are bad. Another Big, BIG message of the Bible is that God is the One who determines good and evil. You don't get to make that call and we don't either. If we are doing everything that God instructs us to do and we have our sins blotted out by Jesus' Perfect Blood Sacrifice, why would God send us to hell? That would be breach of contract, or covenant, as it were. That sort of fraud is tantamount to a lie and remember what God said about lying in His Book.

You should go to an on-line Bible site and type in the word, "abomination", to see God's definition of that concept. While you are there, see what you can learn about suicide. Hint: Judas Iscariot took his own life.

Again, you keep implying that we are responsible for God's character traits. We didn't make Him up. We searched the words of the Bible to understand who and what He is. It is not our fault that much of the world has made up a God out of a few snippets of text while ignoring virtually everything that particular God has to say about Himself throughout the greater portion of the same text.
