But my point was, Captain Crucifix, that Jesus is never mentioned by name, or plays any kind of role, or even pokes his head out of the woodwork, in the old testament. And that is because it was written before the new testament was.

But, humor me again. Because judaism is older then christianity, and christianity is just a sector of judaism that broke off, wouldn't it make a lot of sense for the first christian to go: "Okay, here's the book I used to worship, now let's make some changes". And over the next few hundred years, these changes were revised and revised until they became the new testament. And if that were the case, wouldn't it also make sense that they created that very messiah that the old testament had predicted?

Actually, I didn't. All I said was that Jesus never appears or plays any kind of role in the old testament. The jews who wrote it were just making up criteria of something they thought a messiah would fullfil. But when the christians who broke away created this messiah they were so pissed off at the nerve of the christians that they said "No, that's not the real messiah". You never hear a rabbi on TV reading the new testament, do you? That's because they don't believe in the new testament because it was written by christians, and they don't like the fact that christians took the wheel and hijacked their messiah's prophecy for their own.

The fact that your feelings are hurt does not detract from the substance of my post. You feel attacked. That has no bearing on the veracity of the Gospel or Old Testament prophecy. Do you want some kind of apology before addressing my claims that Jesus fulfilled the role of the Messiah laid plainly in the Old Testament? Sorry if I hurt your feelings, unsaved trash.

The issue is whether or not Jesus was mentioned in the Old Testament. He fulfilled prophecies from the Old Testament. That can be seen by simply reading the books, as I have demonstrated. If you were to doubt the truth of the literature, that would be one thing. But you are doubting something else entirely. You are claiming that the books do not even say what they say.
