so, the thing I see most in this whole website, is people who are not "true christians" (by the way, who are you to give yourself this privilege? have you talked to God in person?) try to prove all of you wrong (Amen to that) and they show you a Bible verse, and you say that they're wrong because "oh well, that is the most misunderstood verse in the bible" when, how do you know? it brings me back to my original point, God helped his followers write the bible, a long time ago, and, we can't exactly be sure 100% that everything in the bible is meant to be read in this way or that way, if there is a possibility of one person being wrong, there is a possibility of you being wrong. And as I said before, you won't know until you make it to heaven or hell, so until then, try and be a little more open minded. because one, no one is perfect, so yeah, maybe you've made a mistake, it's possible, just like I made the mistake of coming here without reading the Bible, and I have been thinking about reading for a very long time, but managing time between my friends, family, school, and my band isn't so easy to do, but I assure you when the summer begins, I'll start reading it.

Praise Jesus, it sounds like the Holy Ghost is cleaning the demons out of your rectum even now. The Word of God can be had for free if you just visit your local Independent Baptist Church and ask the Pastor for one. Make sure you ask specifically for a KJV1611 Authorized Version Bible.

The Bible is God's Word, and the only objective and reliable way to know His Will.

For it to be incorrect, as you suggest above, at least one of the following would have to be the case:

God is not all-knowing, and doesn't know what it says.

God is not all-powerful, and can't fix what's wrong.

God knows it is wrong and can change it, but doesn't want to because He wants to confuse us so we all go to Hell. (In other words, God is evil.)

God doesn't exist.

Which of the above do you believe to be correct?

If your friends, family, school, and band are more important to you than Jesus, you are not worthy to be His disciple, and you will find your way to Hell.

and as for the time for Jesus thing, Believe me Jesus is important to me, I go to church every Sunday and I attended CCD from 1st grade to 8th (thats where CCD stops at my church, not sure if its the same everywhere else)
But, I need to make money, that would be the band
I need to get an Education, so if the band doesn't work I have something to fall on
My friends, well yeah, not really more important than Jesus
Family, I love my family, but I could see where Jesus would be more important than that, but also, aren't we all children of God? (our father)
also, Music is pretty much my life, if it weren't for that I don't think I would be here right now.
So, the Band, School, and Jesus are my main priorities
the Band for a possibility of a decent profit, to support my family (that I hope to have, anyway)
School, if the Band doesn't work
and Jesus/The Bible, so that I'm confident I will make it to heaven

Because we read the Bible AS IT IS WRITTEN, not as we would like it to be. If the verse says, "don't judge hypocritically", it means "don't judge hypocritically", it does NOT mean to never judge anyone else.

The people who have misinformed you as to the meaning of that passage are trying to be really nice and friendly. Nice and friendly preachers get lots of nice and friendly people into their churches and get those nice and friendly people to open their wallets and give them money, because they think, "Oh, this guy is nice and friendly, I bet he's going to use this money to tell other people that God is nice and friendly, and we like a nice and friendly God who isn't going to damn us to Hell for the slightest violation of the 600+ commandments and requirements in the Bible that we have no clue about because we never read the Bible and if we found out that God is a Jealous tyrant who brooks no disobedience we wouldn't go back to that church, we'd find another one that didn't have a problem with us lusting after our neighbour's hot young new wife or cheating on our taxes or drinking like a fish because the stock market just tanked and we're going to get evicted and die penniless on the street".

Unfortunately, that nice and friendly God DOES NOT EXIST. Anyone who tells you that God is like that is after your money. If they cared about you or your soul they'd tell you the TRUTH as contained in the Bible, that God is a capricious SOB who killed hundreds of people because one guy offered Him incense when He didn't tell him to.

Do you believe God is omnipotent? You'd better say yes, because that's what the Bible says. If God is omnipotent, it'd be nothing for Him to change the Bible so that His meaning is clear (True Christians™ believe that the KJV is quite clear about God's meaning, and thus does not need to be changed). Now, if you claim the Bible is unclear, that means:

1) God made it that way, and keeps it that way, so that nobody can understand it, and we ALL go to Hell because we are unable to follow His Commands.
2) God cannot change the Bible, which means He is not omnipotent, the Bible is a bunch of lies, and we ALL go to Hell because God has not communicated His wishes clearly.
3) God is not real.

Which of those statements do you agree with?

Thank you for that original thought. I'm amazed we have had to wait for so long for someone to try the "Why isn't Harry Potter equally valid vs the Bible?" argument. As with all great works we wonder why it never occurred to anyone before.

Didymus, you know, of course, that I stand in direct opposition to you and all your loathsome, atheist ways. But I have to admire your clear understanding of what the Bible actually says, even if you refuse to believe that it is the directly revealed Word of the Almighty God of Abraham, Issac and Israel, who as the Bible also tells us, is also one with His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Because you are not deluded about the true and oftentimes harsh nature of God's instruction for us, I hold out some hope for you. Brother Niles, you KNOW that I would never undertake to correct a Brother in Christ because I am a mere, weaker vessel of a female, easily deceived by Satan and charged by the Bible itself to hold no authority over a man such as yourself who was created in the image of God.

However, we all know how easily non True Christians can become confused on matters of doctrine, given how desperately they flip through the pages of the Bible to find exactly what they want to support their fuzzy, liberal ideals and then ignore all the 98 % of God's Word that offends their delicate sensibilities.

So, with that in mind, I will point out that WE, True Christians can not save anyone from going to Hell. It is Jesus, and Jesus alone, whose sinless Blood Sacrifice provides remission for our sins, who can save us from Hell. And it is God, Himself, who sends to Hell the people who refuse the gift of that cleansing Blood and refute His Holy Word and stand in rebellion against Him by denying His authority over their lives and behavior and either sinning all the live long day against Him or otherwise supporting or deluding those who go around doing things that are clearly spelled out as no-no's in the Bible.

I just don't want our readers to get the idea that we claim any authority ourselves over moral judgments and the eternal fate of anyone.

God says it in His Bible and confirms in that book over and over again His own authority and veracity. We just point the way to the truth and hope in our hearts that others will see it before it is too late.

(Or at least we hope that they will shut up already and stop trying to twist the Bible to support their own agendas.)

Hello! I hope to sidestep the religious argument and just explain why Gmod isn't a bad game, in reasonable terms.

Gmod is an extremely open sandbox of a game, you can do almost anything you want in it. This of course, leads to some people doing some things that may or may not be morally objectionable.
The thing is, this is not the fault of the game, it's the fault of the players. You can't hold a medium responsible for content people create in it. Do you hate paintings because people have painted terrible things, or music because people have made violent songs?
