Re: I was here before I lost my mind
the bigger problem is they assume that Jesus and God were the same person he's not why would God say father why have Thou forsaken me when he was on the cross why does he say to look upon me as to look up on my father and no point in time did he ever say I am God he said I am the way to God and only through me when you get to God but he never said I am God neverOriginally posted by Dolores de Barriga View PostHello again. I see you are having trouble with quoting. You can end a quote by writing
then write your reply and then start the next chunk of quoted text by writing
.
This is great and I wish I had that faith. I kinda lost mine after reading up about history and about all the atrocities committed in the name of Christianity.
That seems nice, but I'm afraid you will have to write your own Sacred Book that would depict Jesus as nice. Jesus of the Bible is not nice. He insults people, He is often rude, very xenophobic... extremely judgmental, too.
That is because they read and obey all of the Bible instead of just choosing a few nice sounding verses. Sounds tedious, I know!
I'm afraid that is one of the Biblical stories that first shook my faith - why would God place bets with the Devil on people's lives?... Sounds very cruel to me... Does that mean that during World War II God got really, really bored and was playing with the Devil again?... Why would He do that?... Does He not care about people at all?...
That's nice that you have that faith. But, if you want a nice God to believe in, you'll have to write your own Sacred Book.
Or, you can just ignore 99.9% of the Bible like most Christians do. But, you should not get angry at this community. Their only fault is that thy actually believe what the Holy Bible says.
I know, they do seem rough on the edges... they really take Jesus as their example, I suppose!

Oh Lordy, an ex-Mormon Jehovah's Witless right here.

Yes dear, because despite the unbroken chain of Spiritual Authority, everyone who has ever read the Holy Bible, asked the Holy Ghost to guide them, and personally talked with God just happened to have all confused what He said and only you got it right. And it only took 2000 years for someone to catch on to this super secret gospel. What a stroke of luck that must be for you!Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

Mr. Grice, am I to understand correctly that you are antitrinitarian?Originally posted by curtisedwardgrice View Postthe bigger problem is they assume that Jesus and God were the same person he's not why would God say father why have Thou forsaken me when he was on the cross why does he say to look upon me as to look up on my father and no point in time did he ever say I am God he said I am the way to God and only through me when you get to God but he never said I am God never
That surprises me as you have said you were in contact with Baptists and Episcopalians, and both of these denominations do believe in Holy Trinity.
I can only tell you what I was told growing up, that the three-in-one combo is a great mystery of faith, and most people who consider themselves Christian agree with it.
So if you are anititinitarian, how do you explain the relationship between Jesus and God? Do you think, just like the Muslims, that Jesus was simply a prophet sent by God? Or something else? I would like to know, I've never talked to an antintrinitarian Christian before.John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Even the homersexualist or the Nigra can change: so can you!

Re: I was here before I lost my mind
Correct, the Holy Spirit is working in every Christian! We no longer are sinners, we are saints. God foreknew us (Romans 8:30) and he will remain merciful to us (Psalm 89:31-33, 2 Timothy 2:13, Hebrews 13:5).Originally posted by Dr Laurence Niles View PostYou may have been raised to stand against Jesus but does that mean that you cannot change?

And yes, EVERY Christian believes in the trinity. Bryan Denlinger as an example proof himself NOT to be a Christian.
I can't wait for the rapture to take me out of this sick world. There are a lot of arguments between pre trib, pre wrath and post trib, but 2 Thessalonians 2:3-12 very much looks like pre trib if you read it in context. So Steven Anderson and John Piper are wrong on their positions.Ecclesiastes 5:3b "A fool's voice is known by multitude of words."

Forgive my feeble female brain, but if the Nigra can change, then what does this verse mean?
Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil. (Jeremiah 13:23)Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?
1 Corinthians 11:13

Instead of trusting the Bible you seem to trust some people who tell you what the Bible says.

You've just killed Christianity.
Oh, wait, NO, you didn't. You just keep denying what Christianity is while demanding the right to be considered in the same class as those who do follow our only guide to what God and Jesus want (the Bible).
Find me one place in the Bible that a human making demands of God turns out well for the human.

Blasphemy.Originally posted by curtisedwardgrice View Posti was raised theyare separate Godheads the Father God the Son Jesus. and the Holy Ghost the power that binds us to Heaven
There is only one God, not three:
John 10:30 - I and [my] Father are one.
Ephesians 4:4-6
4 [There is] one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 One God and Father of all, who [is] above all, and through all, and in you all.
That's a good start. Now keep reading the Bible and obey the law of life in Christ as this verse says.Originally posted by curtisedwardgrice View PostRomans 5:8 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
