FTFY. You may have thought you were Christian, but know that you're learning what being a Christian really means, you never believed any of this crap, did you?

What you call yourself has no influence on how Jesus will treat you:

Matthew 7:21 "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."

    Christian is as Christian does.

Of course I was. Growing up, in a Christian house, it was the only thing I was ever even taught, as far as the religious sphere goes, anyway.

Communism is underrated. It strive for completely economic equality, which is admirable, though misguided when it comes to the economics part. If I wished to be a lawyer, I'd major in law.

In other words and in as much as it is primarily an economic theory, it doesn't work at all. So, from your mush mouthed response, I guess it is a politician you aspire to be with your proposed history degree.

Oh, really? Your parents were True Christians™? They taught you (between beatings) that disobedient children, witches, homosexuals, atheists, and non-virgin brides (who have been properly paid for) should be killed?

If not, they were not Christian (no matter what they claimed [see Matthew 7:21 again]), and neither were you. Ever.

I just think it gets based more often than it deserves. It has some legitimately good ideas. And there was only two mistakes in that sentence. If I could edit my posts, I would, but I don't see a way to. That might be because of the buttons for ants, though.

Well... when you put it like that, I suppose they weren't. I wouldn't want them to be True Christians™ if it calls for that.

Hello, Trout! Are you sure your name is not Kilgore? I thought that the "11" was a literary reference much like Daffodil-11?

I think I understand you. You are sincere in your good intentions. That is nice and decent but it paves the way to Hell. You want people to be decent but we want people to get into Heaven. That is not accomplished through niceties but through the Fear of God!

                        Ecclesiastes 12:13
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

God will not be fooled. He never appreciates the pursuits of atheists. By the only definition that counts, all the acts of atheists are repulsive.

                        Psalms 53:1
(To the chief Musician upon Mahalath, Maschil, A Psalm of David.) The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

Jesus can tell what your Spiritual state is. You may do things that seem decent - charity, saving mundane lives, comforting children - but these acts are corrupt and abominable by definition if an atheist does them, by the definition of God! Our acts that sometimes contain harsh words lead to Salvation; atheist acts fail in this. Thus, corrupt. Thus, abominable.

Now please understand this and start doing real good!

                        Yours in Christ,

                        Elmer
2 Kings 18:25 - Am I now come up without the LORD against this place to destroy it? The LORD said to me, Go up against this land, and destroy it.

OK, let's use a comparison you might understand. Let's say you see a person who lies unconscious on the ground. What do you do? Do you push on this person's heart so hard that it could break their ribs, or do you touch them softly and politely?

The first option may seem harsh, but it is the greater good thinking of the future life (or lack thereof) of the unconscious person. The second option may seem nice, but isn't really helpful. The same way, beating kids is the greater good for the kids, thinking of their Eternal Life.

Hebrews 12:11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

But why choose the Bible as your foundation of morality and worldview? Why not the Koran, the Tanakh, the Satanic Bible, or even one of the many philosopher's writings on Ethics. There's nothing really that shows the contents of the Bible to be true, apart from proclaiming that it is. And that's not enough, because any book can say that it's contents are true, but doesn't mean it is. The Lightning Thief does this on the first page, and you and I can see, clear as day, it's a work of somewhat enjoyable fiction.

Why, though? You're saying an identical act of charity by a Christian and an atheist, the former is great but the latter is apparently repulsive. I just can't wrap my head around that makes any sense at all.

Dear sinner, it is not only the punishment (Matthew 13:42) that matters, also the rewards are magnificent. Our Earthly existence lasts mere decades while Heaven is for ever. Of course, it is Jesus who whispers and thus chooses you but will have to listen to be ready to answer!

                              John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

For those sinners who fail to accept the glorious feeling of blind faith, there are also extra-Biblical pieces of evidence:

                              1. Eyewitness testimony. There are the words of those people who actually lived and witnessed the events during Biblical times. Furthermore, lots of archaeological evidence supports the Bible. For instance, there are descriptions of cities that have been confirmed with archaeology. See also Genesis 10:11.

                              2. There is the testimony of us True Christians™. Our lives have been changed and these wonderful, awesome changes are consistent with Scripture! See also Luke 1:47.

                              3. Look at the prophecies in the Bible. Quite a few have been fulfilled! Daniel Chapter 2 predicted the Roman empire and much more. For reference, see Daniel 2:34.

                              4. There is a unique and miraculously consistent nature of manuscripts of the Bible during a time when there was only illiteracy, unreliable greedy scribes and slow methods of communication and the obligatory use of the vernaculars of those days. See also Psalms 12:6.

                              5. There is a prerequisite of God for secular logic and science. In science, the concept of evolution embraced by atheists and false Christians gives absolutely no possibility of a mind that could be trusted at all. How could quantum fluctuations in the alleged spacetime produce a mind that could reliably examine anything?! If evolution were true, we would not be able to trust anything. The same for human, mundane, secular logic. See also Ruth 2:12.

That said, I don't share your optimism about the Riordan books. They may well tell true stories about demonic entities that were known by their Greek names during antiquity and may still linger about. Please be careful when dealing with them!

                              1 Samuel 16:14
But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him.

As you can see, the evil spirits ARE real, obviously, God knows what they are doing. Once a person has chosen the path towards sin, God will acknowledge this and send more obstacles upon that person's path. These books may hold records of actual events but they won't give you passage into Heaven. That's the difference!

                              John 3:18
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Why, though? You're saying an identical act of charity by a Christian and an atheist, the former is great but the latter is apparently repulsive. I just can't wrap my head around that makes any sense at all.
                              Dear child,

You are closer to the Truth™ than you seem to think. This is extremely good news. That is exactly how God sees the shape of things that are and were and are to come.

                              1. All sins are equally revolting to God.
                              James 2:10
For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
Stealing an apple makes you a child molester. It IS as simple as that.
                              2. All sins are equal before Salvation but all sinners can be Saved, not through deeds but Faith in Jesus.
                              Galatians 3:24
Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
                              3. If a disgusting sinner repents, he will gain a very good position in Heaven. The worse the initial sins, the more Jesus rejoices if he Repents. After Redemption, all sins are NOT equal. The more there is sin before choosing Christ, the better the outcome in Heaven will be!
                              Luke 15:7
I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
You cannot see me complaining, though. I was not too bad before I chose Jesus by the Spiritual Scale. I won't be in a most eminent position compared, e.g., to Repenting mass murderers. But I shall have an Eternity of Joy.

This is very hard and technical but please make an effort and you may share this wonderful future with us!

                              Yours in Christ,

                              Elmer
2 Kings 18:25 - Am I now come up without the LORD against this place to destroy it? The LORD said to me, Go up against this land, and destroy it.

Furthermore, lots of archaeological evidence supports the Bible. For instance, there are descriptions of cities that have been confirmed with archaeology. See also Genesis 10:11.
Witness testimony is one of the lowest forms of evidence a person can present. There's a reason it's not given very much weight in courts. As for the archaeology bit, I'd be surprised if we didn't discover architecture built during that period, but that doesn't mean all the fantastical elements (the great flood and Noah's ark, Jesus dying and returning to life days after) are true

                                2. There is the testimony of us True Christians™. Our lives have been changed and these wonderful, awesome changes are consistent with Scripture!

Testimony might actually be a step lower than eyewitnesses.

                                3. Look at the prophecies in the Bible. Quite a few have been fulfilled! Daniel Chapter 2 predicted the Roman empire and much more.

Coincidence. All prophecies are just predictions that are for some reason given more weight. If the Bible made a thousand predictions, and one or two come true, it's not an example of divinity.

                                4. There is a unique and miraculously consistent nature of manuscripts of the Bible during a time when there was only illiteracy, unreliable greedy scribes and slow methods of communication and the obligatory use of the vernaculars of those days.

I don't know what you're trying to get at here. Can you expand on this one?

Science has the process of repeated experiments and cross examination. There's a reason decade after decade, we're coming to know more and more, and working on the questions that are specially prevalent (what is dark matter?). This might not be a proper answer to that statement. If it's not, mind elaborating on this point, as well?
