Yes you are correct, though I have put my degree on hold for a time, as I am pursuing a career in Healthcare, and am unable to balance my nursing classes with a full-time college schedule.

As for interpreting the bible; I am somewhat dissapointed to hear that this is not a place where people do so, but I still believe that for my purposes at least, this forum will still prove educational and helpful to me. In any case, the users seem to be polite and kind individuals, and I have enjoyed speaking with them thusfar.

This is THE place to talk about how better obey the Bible. We do not discuss, we read and obey.
You may find some things we say offensive to some groups, but we always quote the Bible. We do not attack, we simply point to the Bible. As it was written by God, if you get angry with what was said, then you are angry with God.

Perhaps I can take away a few of your disappointments. This is a Christian forum where Christians follow the Bible. Care to take a look at what the Bible says in Deuteronomy 4:2 and Proverbs 30:5-6. Then take James 2:10 in account and you might understand why it is wise for Christians to follow the rules instead of interpretating them.
Jeremiah 6:21 Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will lay stumblingblocks before this people, and the fathers and the sons together shall fall upon them; the neighbour and his friend shall perish.

Best wishes for the people in Ukraine.

I believe I understand this now, and I thank the various members who have clarified this distinction to me. Clearly there are some differences in how I have been reading and following the lord's teachings to how you lovely individuals do so. I believe this forum may be a healthy place for me to learn after all.

Perhaps I should not be attempting to fit the lord's word to what I see, but instead should change how I see the world to better fit the lord's word. I will spend some time reflecting on this today, and pray for guidance. It is only too suiting for guidance to come near christ's birthday, to show that I may have been in error. A portentous sign, if one is to believe in such things.

I hope that members of this community will continue to bear patience with my misunderstandings and incomplete knowledge, and aid me on my path. I may wish to discuss the teachings of the bible at first, as I have spent most of my life trying to make the word of god apply to all the unusual things I have seen, and perhaps I take the teachings of forgiveness and compassion for my fellow man too far at times when he has sinned and should repent. I am unsure as I type this... I will need to think for a time and reflect upon the matter.

But I still believe that so long as I am making an effort to follow the word of god, that for all the mistakes and falterings I may make, I will find my way back to his side.

            Amen and praise !

After all, it is Him Who decided to take away those blinds in your eyes, after deceiving you and leading you on the path to eternal damnation your whole life:

            2 Thessalonians 2:10-12
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

I hope that members of this community will continue to bear patience with my misunderstandings and incomplete knowledge, and aid me on my path.

Like Sister Basilssa, I will be praying for you. Based on the sentence quoted above, you don't seem too worried about the possibility of dying and being sent to hell, while you are still sorting things out about whether you want to offer God the total, unquestioning obedience that He requires.

If you don't believe in hell, that's your business. But if you are going to talk about worshiping God based on the Bible's depiction of His qualities, personality and intentions, you might want to tighten up and fly straight PRONTO.

God is not what one might call easy-going. And He does not offer a take it or leave option for humanity. It's more like "Do EXACTLY as I say, or I will punish you." Moses missed out on the Promised Land after 40 years of putting up with the Israelites' bitching, just because he tapped on a rock twice. A couple of people were struck dead in the early church for holding back a few shekels from their tithe.

And here you are, meandering along, figuring, yeah, I'll work things out with God sooner or later, no hurry. The Lord warns us in His Word that we don't know the hour of His return. Do you really want to be caught with your pants down?

The members of this lovely community are very knowledgeable about the Holy Bible, and this is because they do not interpret the Bible to justify their preconceived notions but rather do the opposite, shape their views based on what the Holy Bible explicitly says.

The Bible is a document filled with xenophobia, misogyny, homophobia, and justification of genocide and slavery. Most Christian denominations try to hide these 90% of the Bible - this lovely church doesn't. In doing so, this is the most honest Christian group that I've ever encountered.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Thank you for that, Senorita de Barriga (Is that correct?)

So often, people regard us here at Landover as though we wrote those parts of the Bible that are so offensive to the modern sensibility. It can be a challenge to defend beliefs and practices that seem outmoded at best and psychopathic at worst. But when dealing with a Supreme Being Who holds one's fate in His Mighty and Demanding Hands, one learns not to argue.

What one does NOT do is to presume to tamper with the Revealed Word of an Eternal Being on the grounds that such a being-- Who exists outside the limits of time--would, of course, want His Holy pronouncements updated every few years to accommodate current trends.

God called both bestiality and homosexuality abominations back then, but He's cool with gays nowadays. And maybe next week He'll be fine with His followers buggering a dog.

But, pseudo-Christians won't succumb to that thinking because they love dogs and wouldn't stand for them being sodomized without their consent. If someone kicks a dog, however, they wouldn't mind if that person were imprisoned and subjected to anal rape.

Nowadays, hell is for whoever a given so-called Christian decides it is for, never mind God's judgement.

I am sorry for the confusion, nursing is a career that is for both genders, though it is usually associated with women, and is the position most people who practise healthcare start out at.
It provides the experience and training necessary to take more advanced positions later on as you complete your education. For example, an aquaintance of mine worked as a nursing aide at the hospital while he completed his coursework to become an EMS responder.

So to clarify, I am a male, who works in healthcare and is gaining work experience for a position in Human Resources at my local hospital. All hospital staff are legally required to be trained to respond to emergencies, so just because my career path isnt in nursing does not mean I dont need that experience.

In addition, its a finacially sound investment for a college student, just in case I ever go through a period of unemployment, as CNAs are in constant demand.

                            Hello Brother Gonzalez,

I think it is exactly the case he is making: As he is not Jesus he can not make the sick walk again in an instant so he nurses them back to health. That seems like a good thing. It would be a bit unfair to ask him to help the sick with prayers as he is currently ¨unsaved¨ and his prayers wouldn´t be answered by God anyway. (John 9:31)

You are being dismissive, as well as ignoring the explanation I gave you, and I would ask that you refrain from projecting assumptions about a job title if you have no experience in that feild.

Please refer to the following explanation:

Most family doctors, paramedics, or other medical professionals have worked either in a senior care center, pharmacy aide, or other similar transitory position at some point. Typically the distinction for which position is whether or not you choose to become a C.M.A, or follow that up with a L.V.N certification at which time you may have completed your medical schooling and may pursue a higher position. But all of those positions require you to have previous experience in rehabilitation or senior care before they will hire you, and each of the 50 states in the U.S.A has their own standards for certification.

I happen to live in Kansas, which is known for being very strenuous in its requirements- and we usually make C.N.As from other states re-take their tests due to their low standards for passing(California in particular.)

As I said, it functions as a certification, and has as many men as there are women in the classes.
Your assumption that there is something wrong with a male being capable of compassion and goodwill strikes me as an odd and worrysome thing, and shows a clear lack of understanding for the position beyond a superficial and childish level.

I hope this has cleared up a few misconceptions you have about the function of the job in relation to a medical career.
No longer present, and praying the sickness of the false church does not spread any further.

                                Dear Mr. Arthwipe,

I am unsure how do you reconcile your fondness of the medical profession with the despise that God has towards it?

As Brother Gonzalez has already mentioned, God does not want us to go to a doctor, God wants us to pray and be healed:

                                James 5:14-16
14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

In fact, the only one case in the Holy Bible when a person goes to a doctor instead of praying, is a cautionary tale:

                                2 Chronicles 16:12-13
12 And Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to the Lord, but to the physicians.
13 And Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the one and fortieth year of his reign.

Stupid Asa, he trusted in physicians rather than in God. He deserved to die.

I wonder if I should keep praying for you, dear. You might be a lost cause after all.
God created fossils to test our faith.
