I have been on this forum for a few days, and am going to introduce myself. I am agnosticaliencat (or, as they put it on here, agnesaliencat) and I stumbled upon this forum by complete accident. I have also been able to learn a few things simply by being here, and I also hope that I can give others a bit of an insight into my own life and way of thinking.

Re: Agnostic Theist Reporting For Duty
As for what church I used to go to, it was a Unitarian Church in Liverpool. My favorite church to go to, however, is the Cathedral in Liverpool (both of them), and I don't have a favorite Bible passage because they're all good in their own way.

Dear Agnes,
Welcome, Whilst your sentiments are appreciated they are not actually needed. You see, you, don't have to show us anything. God has already shown us all we nee in The Holy Bible (KJV 1611).
Now let's get onto the interesting stuff, like you telling us all about yourself, your church, your favorite verse, how you came to know Jesus, how many Soldiers of Christ you have birthed, etc..
I wait with bated breath for your reply.

Ahh...., that explains things a little. You're English. Do you have all your teeth? Have you ever had scurvy? Oh, I have so many questions.

I'm not going to have children (not the parenting type). As for the church, I can't really remember, as it was that long ago. The cathedrals and also the synagogue were largely because there are so many different religions in my family that it's kinda hard to put them into one group (Judaism, Catholicism, Protestant, non-denominational). As for how I came to Jesus, that's kinda like how I came to all other beings, as I found all of them through music.Originally posted by Thomas Taylor View PostDear Agnes,

I also think it's hilarious that you guys have astronomy on the list of things that God hates, as stars are beautiful when seen by the naked eye, but when they're seen through a telescope, they're something else entirely (and I've also seen Andromeda through my binoculars too).
But that's just my opinion.

Yes, and this is NOT how this forum works. It is not about opinions, it is about the word of God.Originally posted by agnesaliencat View Post
But that's just my opinion.
For example, I love Deuteronomy 20. So I have studied it, and I can say with all my heart and soul that the treatment of prisioners in Guantanamo and Irak is more than Godly.
That is why we ask for your favourite verse: it is because it says a lot of who you are, but also shines a light on the Bible itself, and God reveals Himself in all his greatness!
SHOUT GLORY! ALELUYA!
I hope yo can change and I can see you in Heaven,1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the TRUMP of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first.

I am their rightful owner, you oaf. I also own a telescope, and what you believe about scousers being thieves is completely wrong (I bet you've never even met any Liverpudlians).

"Own" in the sense that possession is nine tenths of the law?Originally posted by agnesaliencat View PostI am their rightful owner, you oaf. I also own a telescope...
I've never met one socially and don't know anyone who has - one has one's standards. But I'm told that if you don't know them by name, it's customary to refer to them as "The Accused".Originally posted by agnesaliencat View Post... and what you believe about scousers being thieves is completely wrong (I bet you've never even met any Liverpudlians).
I'm sure you are not at all like that, though, dear.

You should go to Liverpool at some point, and you'll see that they're just like everybody else (just that we speak with a different accent). Yes, I do "own" my binoculars (like I also "own" the right to tell people that their beliefs about me are absolute "lies" and expect them to accept that).Originally posted by Joanna Lytton-Vasey View Post"Own" in the sense that possession is nine tenths of the law?

What other beings have you met/found? Krishna? Budda? Pachamama? Svetovid? Inanna? Or maybe one of the Trickster-type deities? Or any of the deus otiosus type of deities?Originally posted by agnesaliencat View PostAs for how I came to Jesus, that's kinda like how I came to all other beings, as I found all of them through music.
If you've found Inanna, I'd love to hear all about her. She was a truly bad-ass goddess!
If you've seen a star through a telescope as anything else than a dot of light, then your telescope is broken. Only planets and deep sky objects, such as the Messier objects, look interesting when seen through a telescope.I also think it's hilarious that you guys have astronomy on the list of things that God hates, as stars are beautiful when seen by the naked eye, but when they're seen through a telescope, they're something else entirely
Definitely not a star.(and I've also seen Andromeda through my binoculars too).
And de gustibus non est disputandum. But that's just my opinion.
