Well, it kinda does. There are two basic types of translations: the literal ones and fancy ones. KJV is a literal translation: you get exactly what Jesus said. Fancy translations try to translate what the Bible means instead of what it says - the problem with that is that in the process the translators are trying to interpret the Bible. Hence, you don't get what Jesus said but what someone thought that Jesus said. It starts with change of words, in the worst cases an entire verse may be modified/added/subtracted.

You may want to read Dr. Elmer White's sermon about the KJV being the only reliable version. He knows because he can actually read all of these Hebrew and Greek chicken scratches!

Like this text under here. It need a lot of thinking for why a text like this will be important or even include in the Good Book.

      I think so at least.

Then every Bible would say exactly the same thing, and they don't. Let's look at 1 John 5:7, in the KJV and then the NIV.

1 John 5:7 (KJV) "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."

1 John 5:7 (NIV) "For there are three that testify:"

See that? The KJV explicitly states that God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are facets of a single being, where the NIV is completely silent on the matter, making John 10:30 confusing (look up triune god vs. trinity for why the difference matters).

Then there are all of the verses that just do not appear in the NIV at all. Pastor William Sampson has a great post listing them (but I can't find it right now. I'll keep trying). In the meantime, Pastor Zeke has a nice thread mentioning several of the differences (and what they mean) here: https://www.landoverbaptist.net/showthread.php?t=10335

I really wish people would read the Bible before claiming it says something that it doesn't.

Oh dear - every single word in the Holy Bible is important. Or are you implying that God said some unimportant stuff on some occasions?

Let's have a look at the verses in question:

          Hebrews 5:1-7
1 For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:
2 Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity.
3 And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins.
4 And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.
5 So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.
6 As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

You may ask, Who is this Melchisedec (מַלְכִּי־צֶדֶֿק) and should we care? Feel free to follow the link to read the answer. Anyway, the quoted verses describe how the priest should be - and if you knew anything about the Bible in general you would know that God loves long and meticulous descriptions of how different classes of people should behave - be it priests (here), women (e.g. Ephesians 5:22-24), or, for example, slaves (e.g. Ephesians 6:5-8).

This is because the Holy Bible is the Manual of Life, so of course that detailed instructions of appropriate behavior take a lot of space!

I hope this was helpful, dear.

When the message isn't clear, it's a sign that you're lacking faith. You should confess this sin Right Away! You should apologize to Christ Jesus for being the instrument of His Torturous Encounter on Calgary in a Spiritual Way but also mystically in a Physical Way as well. You do know He spent a terribly uncomfortable few hours in order to Sacrifice Himself just so you wouldn't have to pay the Eternal Debt you owe, a Debt you can never, ever pay! How ungrateful does one have to be to know the Infant Christ Child was Born specifically to be Killed and yet be so petty as to argue with Him about His Best Selling Autobiography, the Holy Bible? Goodness, does it all have to be about you?
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

So you say I have to read ALL and accept everything in the bible?
And that some versions are better than the others?
And I accept everything blind and try not interpret?

Also, if the bible says how all type of people have to behave, is there an index (like A-Z) or something to find how I should behave, or people like me?

                That would be helpful.

                  Re: Hello, from godless spain!

Some things are very simple. Making carved, or engraved, or cast images for instance. God has prohibited that and it doesn't matter which language you use the prohibition remains. Of course a language that did not have a word for "image" or "statue" would present a problem for translators but for people speaking such a language it would be less of a problem because they'd be very unlikely to actually have images, carved, engraved or cast in the first place.

Therefore they could not bow down to them.

God calls such things idols. God prohibits MAKING them and also BOWING to them. People who do so reject God and are obviously not Christians.

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops not only encourage the sale of such blasphemous objects but also bow to them. Because this prohibition is so important with no room for any sort of interpretation we know for certain that catholicism is not a Christian religion.

It is very encouraging to see someone asking questions. When there is confusion, because different people have interpreted The Bible in different ways or translated it by leaving out bits they don't like or adding stuff they think sounds cool, we understand what God meant by this passage:
II PETER .KJV . look up
                  16
We have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.
19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

It's not necessary for me to explain what God meant when He commanded that no images be produced and there's no wiggle room available concerning bowing in front of the things. If I was going to say "Oh, God didn't mean that," why shouldn't I say that God didn't mean it when He said that Jesus came to bring Salvation?

                        Indeed.

1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

                        Ephesians 5:22-24
22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

Colossians 3:18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.

1 Timothy 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

A woman must know her place and I, as a man, must be the leader in advice.

                          Thank you brother González.
Yes, and no, like the Holy Trinity, things are a little bit more complicated.

What you should do is to read the Bible, my previous link was directed to the forum where Brother V, along other Brothers, Pastors and Professors have discussed it and shown every aspect of it, without adding a word to it. Showing the light of the Bible, but not interpreting it.

Other thing you should know, is the hierarchy here:

                          1) Landover Pastors

You are under item 1546, until the department of Faith has cleared you. There is a thread in this forum about how to get saved, you have a forum with the Bible that you can complete in year, so there are no excuses.

But the best way to show you are a TC, is to open your Bible and read it. No shortcuts, no secret passages.

And of course, if you quote the Bible supporting the things you say when you post here, people will like you more as well.

I hope this helps, I am praying for your soul.

but obviously your advice (of a man) are more important here.

Here is not religious at all. Most are evangelistic and catholics that don't go to church (like me, I suppose )

                              Thank you.

Pay special attention to Genesis, Exodus and Deuteronomy. I think those 3 are the fundamental basis of a real True Christian. You will learn the meaning of though love, for sure.

And please be aware that Catholicism has reached an all-time low by allowing a south american Pope, from the pseudo-communist land of Argentina.

Seriously, they were more Christian-like when Torquemada was on the rise.
