    I'm new here

    Hi, just call me eldragon.

I am a middle-aged woman looking for meaning in an otherwise meaningless life.

    I feel quite hopeless.

I am married and have two daughters.

I work as a nurse and therefore see a lot of death.

    Help?

Is that made-up name, El Dragon, supposed to be both Meskin AND pagan?

If you have come here to praise Jesus, then welcome! What is your favorite Bible verse and how did you come to the Lord?

Why are you hopeless? With God, ALL things are possible!
Leviticus 13:44 He is a leprous man, he is UNCLEAN: the priest shall pronounce him utterly UNCLEAN; his plague is in his head.

2 Kings 6:25 And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until an ass's head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove's dung for five pieces of silver.

Well no, I will call you unsaved trash for now as frankly it was not much of an introduction.

So, please tell us more as in what church you attend, your favorite Bible verse and why you only have daughters and just when will you be birthing SONS as soldiers for Christ?

I look forward to your replies.

          YIC,

          Mrs. Phebe Dewitt.

Praise God, That's the way for me!!

My favorite verse is John 3:3

Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

No boys for me. I'm too old to have any more kids.

Yes, I've been scrubbing my kitchen floor enough, but am still miserable.

You'd think being a nurse would make me feel like I'm doing something good for people, but it's not very satisfying work.

My husband works also, but the cost of living is high these days.

I have heard that the soul takes a little while to leave the physical body. Is that true? Do those going directly to hell have some kinda fear and agony imprinted on the face? And those being called by Jesus have this serene peaceful expression? Or do facial muscles not change once the person exhales their last breath?

It is something I have always wondered.

                  Psalm 23:4 (King James Version)
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
                  2 Chronicles 7:14
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land Australia.

Well I can't imagine anything being more satisfying than keeping the home and raising children. So yes, I can see that being a nurse wouldn't be very satisfying for a woman.

I think you do not focus right.

You have daughters, but they are grown and don't need you much anymore. You love them but you don't see them or they don't see you.
You keep house, but for who?
You work for money not for grace.
                      You worry about money.
You are married but have not loved for a long time, because there is no love in you.

All this shows you are only seeing worldly matters. You must have Jesus in your heart in the first place. You must love Jesus before you can love life. Life is God's gift to us, repay it by loving Him.
                      Leviticus 26:15-16
And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant: I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.

                        Perhaps you are right.

But both of my daughters still live at home. They are good kids, but not perfect and therefore cause me to worry about their futures, as well as my own.

Yes, I work for money. It's not enough money for the hard work I do, and the tough schedule I am expected to follow, but expenses are high these days and we are almost out of debt.

When we are completely debt free, I shall quit my nursing job and stay home.

                        That's the plan anyway.

PROOF: Atheists are too stupid to understand the Bible!
