    Why do you believe?

    Hello.

I am wondering why you believe what you believe. Why do you believe that God exists, that Jesus existed and was the son of god, and that the Bible tells the truth? How did you become a Christian, and why?

Please read the "Noobs" please read this before posting.thread.
    .

We believe that the Bible is the literal inerrant Word of God. We understand the Bible by following the principle of "least scripture twisting". We believe that the best way to understand a passage is to read it as a child would read it. If you are in doubt as to what a passage means, ask a child to read it and tell you what he thinks it means. This method of understanding the Bible leads to the least amount of Scripture twisting. We read the words for what they say, rather than what we want them to say.

We also believe that the King James Bible is the only accurate English translation of God's Word. It is the only English language Bible based on the Textus Receptus. All others are based on the Alexandrian Manuscripts and the Latin Vulgate. The King James Bible is public domain, which means anyone can publish it. All other English language Bibles are copyrighted by Harper-Collins. Harper-Collins also publishes How-To gay sex manuals and the Satanic Bible. Matthew 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

Please read this link for more information: http://www.biblebelievers.com/jmelton/knowkjv.html.

Now, friend, if you have read all of this, and still believe that our doctrine is in error, we will be eternally grateful if you can demonstrate this to us, using in-context Scripture from the King James Bible, following the principle of "least scripture twisting".

You may be a liberal Christian, who believes that God's Word must be twisted and "interpreted" beyond recognition before it can be properly understood, and that we must rely on private interpretation. If you have an original argument as to why the book that appears to be an easy-to-follow instruction manual is actually a book of riddles that only a master Theologian can understand, we are all ears.

I didn't ask you what you beliefs are, but why you hold them.

I did read all this. I never said that your doctrine is in error. You put words into my mouth, and even make assumptions on my beliefs. But my beliefs are irrelevant with the questions I am asking. I am merely curious as to why you believe the things you do, and how you came to believe the things you do.

No! They are not. This is a Christian forum. Your salvation is what it is all about here. You are currently a Hell bound atheist and you need to fix that before Jesus kills you.

Now, now. My questions had nothing to do with me. How could you know if I am an atheist or not? I have said nothing to suggest such a thing. My intentions are merely to gain a more well rounded view of my beliefs. See what everyone else's point of view is here. As far as anyone here knows, I could be a Christian, and Jew, or of any other religious belief. I have not said anything about myself. Why are you so quick to call me an atheist and say I am headed to hell? Can't a Christian ask questions of fellow Christians?

Are you saying that anyone that disagree's with the Bible must be retarded? I do know a few atheists, and they seem perfectly intelligent, and capable of functioning properly. Unless I am mistaken, in order for someone to be considered retarded, their lack of intelligence must impact their ability to function, yes?

Well then, now I have a question to ask you. Why are you a stubborn Atheist that insists on causing trouble on this Godly forum? I think it would be wise of you to change your attitude a bit and stop arguing if you want to last on this forum. Don't take the words of the True Christians™ so lightly, either. You need to realize how generous they're being in giving you a chance to be saved. How can you NOT believe that? Look at the overwhelming evidence for Christ being the son of God! Obviously Christian is REAL because the Atheist lost WWII and the Cold War.

To answer you questions. I don't belive that God or Jesus is true, not do I belive that the Bible is true!

Because I know that God and Jesus is real and I know that the Bible is true!

I was chosen by Jesus as adult. Up to that point I had been a proud atheist. But I was overwhelmed by Jesus, He convinced me He was real, and I could not resist. I said "God, I resign!" and have since felt His presence in my life.

Shouldn't a person ask questions why to believe in Jesus before asking how to better serve him? One cannot serve something that does not exist.

If you must know, I am an Atheist. BUt that does not mean that I believe in nothing. I believe in rocks, and water and real physical things that have evidence to support them. Those are my beliefs, but I do not require that of others. My beliefs are my own business, and If I will be damned to hell for disagreeing with you, so be it. But it is not your place to judge me, now is it? That would be God's decision, not yours.

I've always been a Christian. It's just something that God has called me to do.

If you adjust your priorities, stop picking fights, and learn to have more faith, you might just save yourself from melting and charring your flesh for eternity in Satan's Kingdom of lava and fire
Thank you for answering my question. I am glad to see someone who does not immediately jump to hateful assumptions.

I would not say that I am stubborn, I have not said that I am an Atheist until now, and I am not trying to cause trouble. I am fully willing to change my mind. This is part of the reason I am asking these questions. I am looking to see if they will change my mind. I am only looking for honest feedback.

I think my attitude has been appropriate. I have been perfectly polite, and have said nothing with the goal of antagonizing. I am not trying to argue either. You answered my question, and I left it at that. If I wanted to argue, I would counter your answer, but I will not do this because, as many have stated, this is not the place for it.

These TrueChristians have not been giving me a chance to be saved. They have been telling me that I can never be a Christian, and that I am doomed to hell. That doesn't sound very generous to me.
