  • Hello from Ireland

    Hi all.

    My name is David.

    I am from Ireland.

I am, and have been, a Christian all my life.

I also am what you would call, a goth.

I play in a Death Metal band.

I wear the typical goth clothes.

I am not being sarcastic, I am being honest with who I am.

I joined this no to give out about what ye are saying about goths, but to give an opinion from a bible raised goth who still believes God has a place for me beside him when I die.

I also cant spell well, so please bare with me.

    Dave.

    Two questions:

    1. What is your favorite Bible verse?

    2. How much have you had to drink already today?

    Yours in Christ,

Favourite verse? Would have to be about forgiveness so something from matthew.

6:15: if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

How much have I had to drink? Two cups of tea, A glass of orange juice, and a coffee. Stupid questions get stupid answers.

Persecution and sarcasm is what I am to meet on joining a Christian site???

Welcome friend. You kids with your 'got to shock the adults' thing, quite cute actually. Makes me want to tussle your red hair.

What Baptist Church do you belong to?

Why do you think you are a devil worshiping goth. You know it does not please Jesus.

Don't you think you'd be happier playing snappy Christian music on a banjo?
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

As I said, I have not joined to shock the adults. I am an adult myself. I am here as I have read many a thread where members have slated and persicuted "goths", and have only had other Goths join to have a rant and give out over it, so I joined to express my opinions in an adult and civil way. I expected the same from men who class themselves as true worshipers of god, and follow their lives by his word.

Flipping through my Mistle through Matthew, I have found what I was looking for.

"Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye." (Matthew 7:1-5)
I think what I am trying to get across here is pretty clear.

I belong to the Bandon Parish Church.

I do not think I am a "devil worshiping goth", I know I am a God worshiping goth.

I prefer to play death metal on the guitar as it is a challenge and I enjoy it.
I have also written many songs on the acoustic inspired by different Hymns I have heard in church.

Sorry, that was not directed at you. As for myself? I'm in my mid 20's, have no children as of yet, am engaged to be married under the eyes of god, not in a regestary office, but in his house of worship.

I see your point, but may I ask, How do you know you are free of sin to judge? From the moment we can open our eyes in life, we are told that god knows all, and remembers all, and only he can grant forgiveness on judgement day. That, my dear people, is what I am trying to say. Only when God himself has granted us pardon of our sin's on judgement day, then we can be free of all sin. Either that, or you can put your hand on your heart and say to the Lord, "I, as a man, weak of flesh and mind, have never sinned against your word, and in doing so, have the freedom to judge as I will"?

                    Not really.
                    Have you considered this:
1st Corinthians 6:1 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?
1st Corinthians 6:2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
1st Corinthians 6:3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?.
1st Corinthians 6:4 If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.
1st Corinthians 6:5 I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?
Psalm 37:30 The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.

                        Not really.
                        Have you considered this:
1st Corinthians 6:1 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?

The meaning I take from this is that it shall be the saints to judge, am I right?

1st Corinthians 6:2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

                        This confirms my previous answer.

1st Corinthians 6:3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?.

Who does he speak of that will judge Angels?

1st Corinthians 6:4 If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.

So those who are least in the church's eyes, will judge the actions and outcomes of life on earth?

1st Corinthians 6:5 I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?

                        You forgot:
But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers. Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?

Psalm 37:30 The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.

Do you yourself claim to be righteous?

Show me where in the scripture it says "Death Metal" is against his will, and I will agree.

I think what you'll find in most of the posts by True Christians in here is a warning of what God has to say about the way you're behaving in the Bible.

Many people choose to interpret that as being judged but that's usually because the person coming over all defensive can't handle the fact that God is pretty up front about being jealous and vengeful if you don't toe the line and that He will burn you forever if you don't.

Seeing as how we know this to be the case from actually reading the Bible rather than listening to fluffy bunnykins preachers in other churches that gloss over the dicey bits in order to appear more fluffy and acceptable it would be pretty nasty of us to pretend this wan't the case, don't you think?

We could all sit here and quietly congratulate each other for having the wit to read the Bible and see what's actually in there, but we selflessly lay ourselves open to persecution and ridicule while steadfastly refusing to budge from a position of total honesty on the real message of God. We tell you about it.

So who are the nice guys? Us, who are unafraid to serve the pill without sugar or the churches out there who cherry pick all the nice bits and leave you all surprised on Judgement Day?
