  • a year old christian

    Just a year ago I was at the harvest crusade, I decided to give my life to Jesus Christ then. It was tough for me. I've been to HC a couple of times but this was the first time i went down to the stadium. I said the prayer and I broke out in tears. i was excited. Ive never felt this way before. but now all the energy is gone and i feel like i didn't really receive Christ. the temptations are getting stronger, and i dont feel the love. i cant fully understand what Christ did for me. i just cant grasp it. can Christians help me understand? i just dont get it

      But then I read these verses and wonder why God would want this to happen and how America doesn’t see it if the Bible says it is ok to have slaves then why can’t we have them is America straying away from the bible

        I'm not sure what Bible you are using, friend, but it's not the unaltered word of God.

          What are these temptations that Satan tempts you with? We can't help pray for you if we cannot ask Jesus to help you with whatever filthy sin that still distracts you. I once lusted for the backsides of other men, so I understand temptation.

          Open up and tell all. You are among friends.

            I cannot hear God he hasn’t spoken to me any. I have been reading some things lately about the epic of Gilgamesh and the flood story and also the similarity in the book of Ecclesiastes. Then I read about the Norse’s Gods and Horus. I also read about the Sumerians and the ten commandment look similar to the Hammurabi’s Code, from the 19th century BC.

              And again, this is why it is so important to know what is tempting you. You are looking for excuses to dismiss God's Word in the KJV1611 as the real truth that it represents. Reading heretic gibberish and demonic prattle in an attempt to discount the gift of Jesus Christ.

              My friend, I did this as well. So desperate to continue to wallow in a life of sodomy and narcotics, I tried every possible way to avoid admitting that I was nothing more than a filthy sinner, bound for Hell. You know what? There was not even one day of happiness during the twenty years that I chose to rape other men. Not one.

              Then I let Jesus Christ enter me, abandoned the queerness, and life as a True Christian™ has been nothing but pure bliss.

                I dont know, I pray for guidance and direction but i see nothing. I talk to God like a friend and still nothing.
                You are looking for excuses to dismiss God's Word in the KJV1611 as the real truth that it represents

                  Dear friend, in your religious studies, have you come across the concept of diabolical mimicry? It's been known almost since the beginning of Christianity that the devil pre-stole aspects of Christianity to make pagan cults look suspiciously like the holy revelations that God would later give to us. Early Christians used the concept to answer the God-mockers who compared Christianity to existing pagan myths.

                      Yes, but i reject that idea because there is no way to "Pre-steal" ideas. How can you "presteal" ideas that haven't formed yet?

                          Seems to me that Jesus was talking about something other than "God wants to be your friend." Seems He was talking more about how it's important for people to do the right thing and that God's law is more important than what people want in their lust.

                              Oh, very good, you found the word "friend" in The Bible. Now try again, and see if you can find something actually relevant to the question I asked you.

                              Luke 16 is the parable of the unjust steward, which tells us that God wants you to fulfill your duties to your earthly masters with the same diligence with which you would serve God, hence:

                              Luke 16:11 "If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?"

                              Nothing to do with God wanting to be your friend.
