    Re: a year old christian

We're not here to indulge in the ramblings of someone who can barely remember what he has typed from one second to the next and is obsessed with pagan nonsense and fable.

Just because pagan scribblings by ancient savages exist proves nothing. You may as well quote from The Tales of Peter Rabbit. You are looking for reasons to justify your leaning towards atheism, that much is clear. Small wonder you are being rebuked.
Really, Ancient savages, what was he Israelite, savages also. if they existed before the bible then who copied who? if they were pagan fables then how did they get into the bible, almost the same story, from both. Lets get real i come for answers in which you dont have! Now i wonder if God even exist, I followed his laws and everything but i never heard his voice, is he a lair or does he not exists, and all you can do his though verses at me like i am to be able to understand.

Why are you so angry, dear friend?

        Are you totally dense?

The King James Bible is the unaltered and unambiguous only true account of the deeds and wishes of God. All else you mention is ancient scribblings by uneducated savages grubbing round for explanations for their fears and ignorance. You claim to have studied religion and yet you are incapable of seeing how Jesus temporarily died for you to teach you a lesson and what that means for True Christians!

Either you are deliberately pretending to be stupid to provoke us or God has smitten you in the brain as I alluded earlier.

So let's see whether I understand your view of the Bible. God cobbled together some preexisting pagan myths, which somehow suddenly became true when He did it. He promised repeatedly to preserve the result, but He either couldn't or wouldn't fulfill His promise, since people kept leaving out parts out of either ignorance or a desire to keep down the peasants. Is that right?

So the way to prove that it was God's work was by copying a myth about a false god? I don't see how. Indeed, that would seem to prove the exact opposite.
Then how would you explain the epic of Gilgamesh and the flood story and also the similarity in the book of Ecclesiastes or Norse’s Gods and Horus. I also read about the Sumerians and the ten commandment look similar to the Hammurabi’s Code, from the 19th century BC. That’s what I think happen.
Either I am totally lost, or you are totally lost. I'd put my money on you being lost.

You have totally jumbled history from different millennia all together. Can you quote from Ecclesiastes to show how it is similar to the Epic of Gilgamesh or the Flood story? What do the Norse gods have to do with the Egyptian god Horus? What passages in Ecclesiastes mention the Norse gods or the Egyptian gods or have passages in common with books on those false gods?

And we see more anachronisms with your mention of the Sumerians. Their civilization was around 4000 BC, and generally refer to the time civilization was just getting started with Adam and Eve, and the Nephilim, and the Tower of Babel. The Ten Commandments were given by God to Moses who lived in the 13th century BC. Hammurabi reigned from 1792 to 1750 BC. The only evidence of his laws (282 of them) come from twelve stelae of unknown provenance and were only discovered in the 20th century AD. For all anyone can prove, the stones were carved well after God carved the Ten Commandments on the two tablets of stone. Now those who study stories tell us that they get more and more complex with each retelling. So what is more probable, that 282 laws got cut down to a mere 10 with each generation's retelling? Or that 10 Commandments kept growing larger and larger until they numbered 282 with each retelling? That twelve tablets got cut down to two tablets with each retelling, or that two tablets kept growing to twelve?

And again what do the 50th century BC Sumerians, and the 18th century BC Hammurabi have to do with the Book of Ecclesiastes which was written by King Solomon in the 10th century BC? Can you pick a few specific verses and show us?
