You do realize that Mary is dead, right? Unlike Jesus, she cannot pray for you, she cannot intercede for you- she lived a human, and she died a human.

Praise is to express approval or admiration for a person. We praise Mary for being the mother of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Worship is reverent love towards a deity. We worship Jesus because He died on the cross and rose again to save us from our sin.

It's actually not as rampant as it seems. There are horrible people involved in the Catholic Church, just like there are horrible people involved in every faith. We have to pray for them, in hopes that they see the sin they've committed, and ask for forgiveness.

So all we have to do now is convince you that praying to Mary is pointless nonsense based on human tradition and having nothing to do with the bible and we're one step closer to realising that Catholics are not Christians. You must have decided not to pray to saints even though your church says you ought to for a reason.

Think about that reason. Did it seem silly, contrived, ridiculous? In the same way that Limbo and Purgatory are now considered daft beliefs dreamed up by deluded, supposedly infallible Popes from ages past, Mary worship and praying to statues will go the same way if you focus on thinking about it and looking at the evidence.

Consider why people actually decided that such beliefs (fiercely defended for centuries) are actually indefensible blasphemies with not a shred of merit. Is there anything else you believe in that's on shaky foundations?

I never said it wasn't, I simply stated that I have never known of any case of child abuse with my church.

Once again I am a Christian. I do not worship Mary, I do not say Hail Marys. I do not worship saints, or even acknowledge them on their feast day. I even stated in an above post that I'm currently attending a Baptist church.
