    hey, there

So the reason I signed up here was because the old "god hates sinners" forum redirected me here. And I have to say...

People here are way meaner. To avoid being called a "troll," I will simply sit back and ask why, in blunt terms, do a lot of people here talk so harshly? I do respect the forum for the free speech thing (as I have read in a topic put up top), but it does look as if it's being abused slightly. It sort of seems more like an "I'm right, you're wrong" type of place. I don't think people in Eastern countries would appreciate being called "whores" just because of where they were born (I have seen examples of this everywhere here) nor does it do any good when some people come here to confess and seek guidance (like the homosexual one for example, but don't just ride off of this one) and everyone here just calls them sick and stupid and says they're going to Hell instead of encouraging them to work hard on bettering themselves to make it into Heaven. It sort of baffles me. May I ask what it means to be caring and Christian on this website? I'd like to listen to your opinions.

Now to introduce myself, which certain things demanded me to do. Some things must keep orderly, after all.

I was born and raised Christian, went to an amazing church with nice people and an all-around welcoming community. I love learning about history, cultures, the arts, just about anything, really.

Nice to meet you all, and I hope we can get along nicely. Jesus be with you.

    Us? Meaner?

We love everyone so much we try to save them from hell. I'm so glad you found us, friend.

Why don't you tell us a bit about yourself? What is your favorite Bible verse? How did you come to find the Lord? Do you have your husband's permission to be on the internet?
Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.

What church did you attend? How many sons do you have?

You have to understand the True Christians on this site take everything from the bible literally. Most churches paint God has a "Fluffy bunny type", and this is very far from the truth. God does have great love for you if you believe in him, love him, and repent of your sins. However if don't believe in him, love him, and repent; he will send you to a lake of fire.
Here is a few scriptures to what God will do with sinners and non believers:

1 Samuel 15:18 18 And the Lord sent thee on a journey, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until they be consumed.

John 3:18 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Meaner... meaner... how to explain... I'll just say that here some seem to get mad very easily at almost anything that's said, even make rude judgements on a whim (like calling people whore for no reason).

Love everyone and save them from Hell? That's a good motive. How's it done?

I already said some things about myself in the OP (it already seems you just skimmed the whole thing.) I have not chosen a favorite bible verse yet because I'm a little more interested reading it through right now. There were a couple verses that caught my attention, but I'll have to decide which one holds greater meaning to me currently. It's a tough choice. I found the Lord through having Him all my life, and catching the miracles he brings me.

Lastly, do I have my husband's permission to be on the internet? First off, that is quite an assumption you have there. Why do you assume I am a married woman? You don't know if I am even old enough to be married. Plus, if I were actually a guy, you'd have just called me gay, which to some straight people is very insulting

Thank you for that helpful rundown. The church I went to (just a regular ol' community church) did portray him as a "fluffy bunny" type, and that did seem a bit off. Despite that, it was a pretty decent church. Would it be okay to see God as more of a very strict parent since we are his "children?" For the believers at least.

Odd that you bring up whores... something to tell us? Some dark perverted act you are now deeply ashamed of that you could share with us? We can guide you to the light, child, if only you are truthful.

Why so evasive about your age and gender? I know some teenagers seem to lack the ability to check in their pants and are confused but it's a simple matter and nothing to be ashamed of. Perhaps you could start again without all the hurtful judgements and we could come to know you.

Son, I see that your mother neglected to teach you how to be respectful and considerate when entering someone's place of business. Rather than following directions and being polite, you launch into a lecture about how unpleasant you find us. What do you think I'm supposed to make of that?

I'm not angry, mind you, just sad for you. You see, that shows me your heart is not in the right place. Rather than putting all your energies into loving and serving the LORD, you're putting precious energy into requesting people conform to be more agreeable to you. It's your pride, son, that separates you from God and His Blessings.

I beseech you to look into your own heart and confess your many sordid sins and ask for God's forgiveness. And I will pray for you, too.

Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

I was just using that as an example. No, I don't have any dark perverted acts that I am deeply ashamed of. Looking around the site, I have seen the word tossed around here and there as an insult to people. Another example if you'd like would how I've noticed people here don't take too kindly to other countries, like how someone was judged for simply being Swedish (what's wrong with Sweden? Not that I'm Swedish.) Going back to what I said earlier about observing that some people here talk a little more forwardly and harshly, but I know not everyone does that.

I wasn't really being evasive on age and gender, only trying to prove a point. The guy assumed I was a married woman with no way to know if he was right about that. That was in no way saying I was genderly confused. That was a judgement he made on a whim (though it might have just been asked as a standard procedure, but he still made the assumption.) And then we have someone thinking it makes you gender confused. That could also be seen as hurtful.

Could you tell me what I said that was hurtful and judgemental? I'm just being honest and stating what I observe, but keeping it strictly to this thread so it could hopefully be sorted out. I am glad you do try to get to know the new users. After this shenanigan is over with, I'm sure we'll know each other well enough.

                      Let's start again.

How about you introduce yourself and tell us you favourite Bible verse and all about how Jesus is important in your life. Then we stand a chance of actually getting along. Because you seem to just be here to upset people for devoutly following God's morals from the Bible which seems quite confrontational.

Nope, my mother did teach me well. Sorry if I did come straight off into a lecture. I was actually just really being honest in what I've observed, not judging, but just by what it seemed, and hoped that someone would explain a bit and possibly be constructive slightly (I may have just been looking in some of the bad sides of the forum to start out with. Or I might have interpreted some of other user's introductions wrong when they start right off with saying "I hate this and that" and so on, which to me brings on a negative effect.) It is a forum of free speech afterall, but I'm not going to annoy people by persistently using that word around. I understand where you are coming from. I do spend time with people where talking is a little more lax and open, but I'll try to be careful of that here since it could sound a little out of the comfort zone.

I'm not really asking anyone to be more agreeable. What I stated in the OP was merely, like I said before, what I had observed, and was simply asking about it very honestly. Pride had nothing to do with it, I assure you. It probably doesn't seem like it right now, but I try to be the neutral person and see all sides. Once in awhile I tend to come out asking blunt questions to further understand the situation.

Thank you for not making absurd assumptions about what I am like -ahem- some people earlier (though I have not confirmed what it is.) We've all sinned, and all should ask for forgiveness when we realize we've done something wrong. I do like how polite you are, and will keep that kindness in mind.

I wasn't really being evasive on age and gender, only trying to prove a point. The guy assumed I was a married woman with no way to know if he was right about that.
The way you worded your opening post identified you as a woman. I have been at this a long time and I'm rarely wrong, but I will admit if I am.

My guess was female early 20's, which would mean you are likely married. If not, it would be a bit strange.

That could also be seen as hurtful.
It certainly wasn't my intent, but without you telling us, I'm stuck merely using the Holy Spirit as a guide.

Could you tell me what I said that was hurtful and judgemental? I'm just being honest and stating what I observe, but keeping it strictly to this thread so it could hopefully be sorted out. I am glad you do try to get to know the new users.
You jumped to conclusions about us being somehow mean when we are merely trying to bring God's Message to people who so desperately need it.

Love everyone and save them from Hell? That's a good motive. How's it done?

You don't know if I am even old enough to be married. Plus, if I were actually a guy, you'd have just called me gay, which to some straight people is very insulting
How is it done? Have you ever even BEEN to a church? By explaining the conditional love of God and the temporary sacrifice of his only begotten son, Jesus as a structure to ensure salvation for all good people.

As for your last sentence, I think you need to calm down a bit. Nobody has attacked you. Nobody is mean here, and where in one place anywhere has any one of us at any time every misquoted the Bible. This forum is the most consistent with the Scriptures as you will find anywhere.

I must make a point about your meanness, however. I really find it offensive to be accused of hypothetical crimes ("you are a murderer because if you had seen me there you would have killed me" and the like). Here, you accuse of us of offending straight men (presumably including you although you write sort of gay-like) because we WOULD have said something IF the circumstances were completely different.

And we know you are old enough to be married because you should't be here unless you are an adult.

You have a lot to learn, friend. Stick around. We can explain anything you might be questioning.

                              in Christ,

                              Alex
