    Why should I believe in God?

    Dear fellow human beings,

    I am undecided on whether or not to believe in this religion. I have been experimenting with different religions, such as Islam, Hinduism, and Buddism. What reasons are there for me to believe in Christianity? Please do not say I should because "The Bible tells me to" because I do not yet believe that the Bible is fact. Also do not say I should because "I'll go to Hell if I don't" because, again, I do not believe what the Bible says to be fact yet and so by extension I do not believe in Hell.

      God paid the price for our forgiveness through the Cross -- a payment that Buddha, Muhammad, Confucius, or any other religious leader cannot offer.

          This is called the INTRODUCTIONS section for a reason. Be polite. Tell us about yourself, the church you were raised in, and why you've decided to spit in Christ's loving face.

                  You need to read the Bible, the 1611 King James Version. I'm sure that will cure you of your indecision. The only way you can know what to believe is by reading God's Word. You should also find a sound Baptist church in your area.

                      There is no point in picking any religion other than Christianity because they're all either partially or completely works based.

                      Even liberal false Christians are aware of John 3:16, though have they also seen John 3:18? It is pretty simple: Either you believe in Jesus or you're condemned. Clearly the thief who died on the cross next to Jesus did not live a life full of good works, and yet Jesus stated that the thief would join him in Heaven.

                      I'd like to add something. Using this same logic, we can also determine which section of Christianity to choose.

                          Hey Jizzle. Isee that you use the word "YET" quite a lot. Maybe this could mean that there is still a chance to save yourself from eternal torment in the firey pits of Hell.

                          Pick up a Bible (KJV 1611) and read it. I can guarantee that your eyes will be opened.

                              As an God-hating atheist I find your request really strange.

                              First you seem to be wanting the measure the 'best' religion for you. The implication here is that you want one that fits closest to you own morality. If this is the case why bother with religion at all? Just go with your gut for how best to behave: you'll do fine.

                              2: if you are looking for the best fit religion you are ignoring the fact that most religions have a supernatural basis. If you take the miracles out of xainity or the Jinn out of Islam or the wheel out of Buddhism you may as well make it up yourself as it's just a collection of stories: if you don't accept the tenants of the religion your are not being faithful to it.

                              C: The only way anyone can know about any religion is by the holy writings of said religion. If you rule out those books (Bible, Torah etc) then that leave you with no other possible avenue of evidence. Personal testimony is ruled out for obvious reasons.

                              Either your question is irrelevant or disingenuous and you are revving up for a game of 'gotcha'.

                                      Forget about HELL my friend you need to be concerned about the very real problems you will have in this life if you do not wrap yourself in GOD'S protection. I used to be under constant demon attack because I did not WORSHIP JESUS CHRIST and even after I gave my life to JESUS, GOD still sometimes allows me to have a good "psychotic episode" to remind me when I am straying from the path that HE has laid out for me.

                                      If you want to keep demons out of your peronsal space and avoid having all your manly spirit drained from you by a succubus you must welcome JESUS CHRIST into your heart and accept the protection only HE can provide.

                                      Remember a succubus is a DEVIL which believes your body is hers to rape as much as she wants but even a succubus believes that JESUS IS LORD and she will flee from your bedside in terror when she realizes CHRIST watches over you!
