    HI!

    My name is Elsa.
I don't really have much to say about myself, but I don't go to church. I don't have a favourite Bible verse. There are ones that I find inspiring and also ones that make me want to vomit. So yeah. Hi.
    2 Chronicles 15:13

    Hi,

My name is Elmer. I have much to say about our LORD, but you don't seem too interested. I do have some favorite Bible verses, you can see them below. There are many I find inspiring and also ones that make me very worried about the state of the majority of the world's population.

So no. Mild provocation and attempts of deliberate shock value are not very interesting.

    Mark 16:16
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

That's the deal. First alternative available here, second alternative you seem to be familiar with already. You can have your juvenile fun and post a few irritated posts, only to get bored and go back to your life half shy of the number of the beast. Or actually try to see Jesus and Bible as they actually are, complete in their awesome terrible love and dazzling fear.

    Romans 13:2
Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

    Yours in Christ,

    Elmer
2 Kings 18:25 - Am I now come up without the LORD against this place to destroy it? The LORD said to me, Go up against this land, and destroy it.

On the contrary, I'm very interested in Christianity. It's by far the most interesting religion, in my opinion. I study the Bible all the time, and contemplate it's meaning.

I see. I have a free advice for you, sweetie: instead of contemplating the meaning of the Bible, just read it as is.

So you don't think about what it says after you read it? Doesn't it strike a chord in you, forcing you to think about what it says, and the reason behind what it says? Do you use your mind at all? Or are you just a puppet? Blindly following words on paper, not thinking about it. That's what I meant by contemplating. I don't see any hidden meanings in the Bible. I don't fabricate ideas that aren't there.
Thank you for your preemptive "you're welcome". I send a belated "thank you"

I think I'm a little confused when you say that the Bible makes you think about the reasons behind it, yet you don't see any hidden meanings in it.

Do you mean like, how should such inspiring verses like (among many others) Psalm 137:9 be applied today?

Think of the Bible as an instruction manual, or a cook book.

Is a mechanic a "puppet" for adhering to the shop manual torque specs when replacing a cylinder head?

Does a chef have to contemplate the temperature setting of the oven when he's baking a cake?

I'm sorry you misconstrued my tone. I didn't mean to come across as offensive. I just didn't know if people actually think about things in the Bible. It's hard to understand people sometimes. People say one thing and mean another.

                      I didn't misconstrue anything.

Look, I see your kind every single day, and it's always the same song and dance. You consider yourself to be oh-so-clever, while in actuality you will one day think back on this moment and realize how breathtakingly foolish you are.

Now might be a good time to read more and post less: you just might learn something.

You did misconstrue me, but that's okay. That is actually some pretty sage advice. I am foolish. And I do think I'm smarter than I really am. I'm pretty stupid, really. You don't have to tell me these things. I'm young and I'm foolish, but that doesn't mean I'll be this way forever. People evolve and change as they grow older. This is just who I am right now in this moment. Maybe tomorrow I won't be so scathing.
