I kinda doubt that they'd be "deceiving" their future husbands since, if the bride wasn't a virgin, then they'd most likely have had sex with each other, or at the very least the groom would be fully aware of the bride's sexual history before the engagement.
And if the groom thought that the bride would bring any sort of shame to either of their families or that she'd not be a "worthy wife" then it'd be unlikely that he'd even ask her to marry him in the first place.

I have a suggestion that any woman that is married in white (thus suggesting virginity) should be happy with. It is also based on the word of the LORD.


Deuteronomy 22:13 If any man take a wife, and go in unto her, and hate her,
14 And give occasions of speech against her, and bring up an evil name upon her, and say, I took this woman, and when I came to her, I found her not a maid:
15 Then shall the father of the damsel, and her mother, take and bring forth the tokens of the damsel's virginity unto the elders of the city in the gate:.................

20 But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel:
21 Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you."


If the bride fulfilled her wifely duty for the first time on top of the white dress then this could be shown to the wedding guests the following morning. If the dress is smeared with blood and the remnants of the ripped hymen then the bride will be seen as virtuous.


If this cannot be shown then the girl is soiled goods and a whore. Under secular law she cannot be stoned but the guests should shun her, take back the presents and sue for any costs incurred.

Although it is not mentioned specifically in the Bible, infibulation happens to be a nice practice that is principally in-line with Scripture.

In my wedding I wear something quite simple, and of course I was completely virgin at the moment




The only difference is that I was more smiling, I must to, because that day finally I made my parents proud by giving them a married daughter, and the next year I gave them that two pretty grandaughters
